The cost to MTL to move Price’s contract is expected to be a late pick, but Nashan you are 100% correct they don’t need it. I was suggesting basically a 7th swapped for a 6th, but you are absolutely correct that CHI is already at the floor👍.

I’m thinking if I was the GM to take Price I’d want a second no worse. No favors as it is tough going in the nhl. I hope they don’t add any more teams to make it even more watered down.

NASHAN: I totally agree that they shouldn’t expand, for the reason you stated. Unfortunately I fear they will to take the money that’s available.

The Habs have already ruled out a 2nd to the move Price. There are some teams that want to move out contracts that may need the Price cap hit to remain at the floor. The usual suspects seem to be PIT, SJ and CHI. Perhaps the upcoming GM meetings in Detroit will provide some answers👍.

I think this is a good basis of a deal. I think CAR would have to add a 2nd or similarly valued prospect to complete this offer.

I would also agree that KK gets traded before camp opens. He just isn’t a Rod Brind’amour kind of player.

I know they signed Toews. But he is 37 yrs old and has been out of hockey for a couple years. Can't expect too much from him. He might be third line centre or fourth line centre or flat out realize his body is not where his heart and mind are anymore. And retire. So many unknowns. Don't get me wrong he would make a great locker room guy, and has a lot to offer in that regards. But on the ice ??? Why not go after a young centre good 2C and bring young driver to compete for cup. ( Might have to find another goalie for the playoffs tho).

I can't see McTavish really being available. That said, Chevy isn't going to give up a comparable young player and a 1st to get him. It's not Chevy's style.

The idea would be to add to the current lineup, not make a trade to fill one hole by creating another.

Remove the draft picks and make this trade straight deal Perfetti for McTavish and it could work for both teams. However I don't believe that Chevy would make this trade as he likes Perfetti's progress so far.

Sidekick, there aren't really any 2C's available that are known of at this point, so you'd likely be looking at a project player or an older guy that a team wants to move on from. No possible names come to mind right now though.

I can see something like this happening. McCann can play center, but plays wing in SEA since they’re pretty stocked down the middle.

Yah McCann can play the middle for sure. I think he was in the 40s percentage wise in the dot so that's a spot that need work. He's solid at both ends of the ice. Age is right for where the habs are at. Id say Habs probably add a pick or two depending on what round they are in; but the structure is there for a deal to be made.

Why are yah even considering trading Hutson? I'll admit I was his biggest critic last year in regards to how he would actually perform being an undersized dman. Guy went out and dropped 60+ points as a rookie dman and was part of the reason the Habs managed to be in the playoffs. You don't trade away corner stone dmen when you have em.

Also I can't imagine why NJ would move Hischer or either Hughes brother. They are perfect age for being consistently and the playoffs and potentially coming out of the east if things fall the right way.

There's trades to be made if the Habs want to address the 2C spot. Rossi comes to mind, I'm sure a deal could be made grab McTavish, Bolduc already in the system could tske that spot and run with it out of camp.

I agree with MG69 about there are trades to be made, but id stay as is atm . Im still on team Dach however, I give him this one last shot to prove he can do it.
Im quite happy with the current roster and want to just see these guys grow together.. not a contender yet, but really close, I think this is one more year of growth, then its go time..

Andrae, plus a 1st,2nd,and 3rd round pick. A "Best Case" scenario for Anaheim who is forced to move on from McTavish and get the best return possible.

Flyers overpay for McTavish who is hopefully a peice of the Flyers future Center core along with Zegras,Couturier,and Jack Nesbitt. And they get another option with legitimate elite upside to play with Martone and Michkov.

McTavish and his agent. The market. The fact that Anaheim disputes with every young player they have to sign and have already chose to send out multiple young players they feel don't match their "rebuild style". McTavish is on Serrevalli's top20 trade targets. I mean. Where there's smoke there's usually fire.
