Confirmed

Oil: Eberle

Isles: Strome

Wish edmonton got a little more but we lost a lot of cap space and gained a younger player.

McJesus Christ

1.) 22 Jun 2017 17:56:28
Don't tell FT4A. if he can't respond to every trade saying Eberle won't be traded, he really doesn't have much to say.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 18:00:15
Honestly.

I love it for Edmonton.

3.) 22 Jun 2017 18:01:47
I think losing the Cap and possibly opening up more playing time for Jesse p is important. Also allows EDM to get a better rental come playoffs.

By the way Congrats to EDM on first playoff birth in a decade.

4.) 22 Jun 2017 18:01:58
lol you're right Thunder Turkey.

5.) 22 Jun 2017 18:02:19
Oilers lost this trade 4 now.

6.) 22 Jun 2017 18:11:37
@Alikhan

How did we lose this trade?
We literally gave up a 6 million dollar player that like never scores and plays crap on defence without retaining anything. Opens up spot for Jesse P.
Strome can also score like 50 points for Edmonton. NYI just ruined him. Sent him down to the AHL like 3-4 times, publicly criticized the kid.

7.) 22 Jun 2017 18:19:02
It's humbling for FT4A, that's for sure. Maybe now after Hall, Yakupov and Eberle were traded for far less than he said they were worth, he can admit that RNH isn't worth top pair dmen ++. lol yeah right.

8.) 22 Jun 2017 18:47:13
Strome is younger, cheaper and also plays center. I think it's a good deal for Edmonton but still wish we got more.

9.) 22 Jun 2017 19:14:55
Because eberle only had one bad season and you guys could of got more but you are right that he's younger and that they needed the cap.

10.) 22 Jun 2017 21:39:45
Unbiased.
Nope. RNH is worth a top 4 +.

Hall trade Win BTW., .
Yak trade. brutal Loss
But Ebs. More than brutal. Stupidest trade in the history of the NHL! Even dumber than Gretzky .

Anyone but Strome would have been better. Troubled Kane, Pulock, Dal Colle, Hamonic, 4th round draft pick. Something anything with an upside would have been better than this soon to be AHL'er.

Snow's a smilin' today.
Calgary fans are a smilin' today.

Dark day for the Oilers franchise.

11.) 22 Jun 2017 00:45:50
Funniest thing I've read in a long time. Only because FT4A has bashed Strome repeatedly for months on this site and said Eberle was worth a lot more. Strome will now be an untouchable, top 6 forward worth the sun and moon. When I have time, I may have to even dig through the archives and pull up some FT4A quotes.

Talks of Galchenyuk to Chicago for Hjalmarsson and a pick.

McJesus Christ

1.) 18 Jun 2017 00:35:43
I said that yesterday. Minny also offered Brodin to Montreal for Galchenyuk and a 1st. Montreal had until today to decide.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 00:40:14
No from Montreal don't want his bad contract.

3.) 18 Jun 2017 00:41:44
Only 2 years remaining and he's 30 never going to happen.

15 Jun 2017 20:26:13
Confirmed

Drouin + 6th for Sergachev + 2nd

Crazy.

McJesus Christ

1.) 15 Jun 2017 20:36:29
rn winner is habs.

future could be bolts, have to see what serg turns into.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 20:50:40
I just saw that. The second is conditional from what i see. Sad to see Sergachev leave, but developing a star D when in win mode is hard to do when the market is in need of defense. Good for tampa to eventually have Hedman and Sergachev on their top line.

3.) 15 Jun 2017 20:51:27
Drouin has the highest ceiling but I like it for both teams.

4.) 15 Jun 2017 21:04:50
Crazy trade indeed!

Makes sense for both teams though. Although, I thought if Montreal was going to move Sergachev it would be for a 1st line C but things change.

I think it's easy to say early winner is Montreal because they get help now but Tampa also gets cap space to be used elsewhere plus an extra protection spot for expansion which means they could lose a lot less due to expansion and not being able to sign their players.

So I say its currently tilted in Montreal's favour but in a year or 2 could change to Tampa's side.

I'm surprised this deal went down between division rivals especially because of the talent involved.
Tampa and Montreal have traded in the past, just not as big until now.

Now it's going be fun to see what other big deals drop.

5.) 15 Jun 2017 21:07:11
Also just a thought,

Does the loser of this deal become the Avs because there aren't many other teams willing to trade a top d-prospect for Duchene?

So this deal takes another team out of the Duchene sweepstakes, which could be bad for Avs.
Just speculating here based on this trade.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 21:09:13
Really happy as a habs fan.

7.) 15 Jun 2017 21:10:14
If sergachev plays more than 49 games for Tampa next year regular season and playoffs no picks are exchanged.

8.) 15 Jun 2017 21:10:22
40 sorry.

9.) 15 Jun 2017 21:14:10
Interesting move, only time will tell who the winner is. Sergachev is unproven yet, but i think he will make the lightning next year. Tampa gets what they need, Mtl still hasn't a 1C even with moving Sergachev. Surprised that 2 teams within the same division made a blockbuster trade.

10.) 15 Jun 2017 22:08:34
I think Montreal won this in my opinion but honestly really good for Tampa. Got a young promising dman AND they save a spot for expansion draft. That's really important and that opens up some cap to sign other players.

11.) 15 Jun 2017 22:13:51
If you think he makes the Lightning next year, you're underestimating Cooper, haha. He hates playing young talent.

12.) 15 Jun 2017 22:26:07
Not sure if Sergachev makes team bext year, but I think he has a bright future in the league.
Also, if we have to move Sergachev, i'm glad it was for Drouin and not Duchene. Much rather have Drouin.

13.) 16 Jun 2017 03:29:09
Biggest looser is Colorado. I believe the Montreal offered the same package for Duchene. Sakic seems scared to make a big trade. I guess he could still trade with the Flyers. I have heard rumors they have interest in Duchene. I truely believe Sakic dropped the ball on this one.

14.) 16 Jun 2017 20:34:47
No Way.

That's nuts.
Fair deal imo though.

Crazy.
Crazy.
Crazy.
Good job McJesus.

12 Jun 2017 22:16:11
Read this:

CAL: Gillies

NYR: Raanta

Flames get a guy who can hopefully be a full time starter (following in Talbots footsteps), and rangers get a goalie for the future.

McJesus Christ

1.) 12 Jun 2017 22:51:49
Don't think Raanta's a future starter tbh.

2.) 13 Jun 2017 03:34:36
Neither do I, but he did play well I thought whenever he did play.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 10:39:46
No from Calgary. He will be traded for less.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 10:40:14
Please explain why NYR would take a worse goalie in a 1-1 trade? The probability of Gillies becoming nothing in the NHL is huge. Raanta is a proven good backup maybe even capable of handling a starting job.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 11:47:07
This is a yes from Calgary.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 23:20:19
@ slash.
NYR would consider because of Gillies very high ceiling. He has potential to be a legit superstar starter. That no the likely hood of losing Raanta to Vegas for nothing at all.
Saying that, CGY says no and should offer less.

7.) 14 Jun 2017 06:32:44
I like it. CGY gets a guy who might be a starter. Similar situation to Talbot. NYR get a really great prospect who might be an all right backup next year. Gilles is also expansion proof.

Saw this in an article:

*assuming Vegas takes Petrovic

Oil: 22nd + Pouliot

LV: Petrovic

Sign Foo
Sign Thompson 2yr 1.3mil.

1.) 12 Jun 2017 19:15:03
Im really excited to see what trades are going to happen. This draft could easily change the make up of several teams. The free agency / draft / trade deadlines have been some what boring of late.

Hope to hear some trades today.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 19:35:27
I feel like the expansion draft is going to force a lot of trades that normally wouldn't happen and I hope there is a lot of moves coming up soon.

3.) 12 Jun 2017 19:53:49
Agreed would love to see some moves instead of stagnet cap BS.

4.) 12 Jun 2017 20:56:22
2 trade offers gaudreau and 2018 2nd round pick and kylington and shunkaruke for Malkin and fluery. cal-pits ovechkin for Bennett lazar and 2017 1st round pick.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 00:48:11
Bahny idk if you meant to reply to this post but whatever the hell you just said I wish I never read. That's the dumbest thing iv ever seen and it hurt my brain.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 03:13:13
"Hunter shunkaruke" 😂.

7.) 13 Jun 2017 10:35:01
This won't work, Vegas will be taking Pouliot in the Exp draft.

From earlier, just curious who has more value.

I'll be honest I think MacKinnon does but I wanna see what other people think.

Draisaitl or MacKinnon?

Reason I think Mac is because he's a better skater, has better hands imo and a better shot. Both think the game extremely well but Drat certainly is better protecting the puck and the better playmaker.

Just wondering tho who is better, or who has more value. And points shouldn't have anything to do with it, I'm wondering based on skill because who knows how many points MacKinnon could get playing with McDavid.

McJesus Christ

1.) 27 Jun 2017 01:16:47
IMO it depends what System the player is placed in because there so close in value. IMO in the perfect scenario Mackinnon is a RW to an Elite center and drais is a 1c. Drais would do better in a finnese hard working System like LA or Ottawa then Mackinnon. Mackinnon would excel ore then Drais on a pure skill team like New Jersey or then Rangers then Drais. Ideally you want a big physical Elite 2way center and DRais is exactly that he is way more well rounded defensively. Mackinnon is a small extremely fast center that is better at playing the wing. Mackinnon on McDavids wing would be better then Drais but imo Drais compliments the center role better then Mackinnon.

2.) 27 Jun 2017 04:31:06
Ill take Draisaitl.

3.) 27 Jun 2017 17:39:58
Based on skill alone I'd say mackinnon. Like you said he's fast, quicker harder shot and sees the ice well. I think draisatl's has the size advantage and is stronger and is very skilled, it's close, but yeah McKinnon has the edge skill wise.

4.) 28 Jun 2017 03:40:31
Draisitl.

5.) 28 Jun 2017 14:42:27
I think Draisaitl is just scratching the surface of his potential. wouldn't surprise me if Oilers have 2 top 5 scorers in league for years to come. Mackinnon is very good, however I don't know if he can dominate a game the way Draisaitl can at times. I think McDavid and Draisaitl will be best one two punch since a couple (ironic same team) of Oilers in the 80's Gretzky and Messier. Connor and Draisaitl are the new Great one and Moose.

6.) 28 Jun 2017 23:23:56
Feel that Drai uses his body way more than Mackinnon does and he's a better playmaker and defensively but offensively i think mackinnon is better.

Not going to lie pretty boring trade deadline. No big trades and nothing that really caught my eye. Colorado is for sure losers of the day basically making no trades and pretty strange how Vrbata never got traded. Thought oil would want him.

But Imo I think the lightning made a huge move sending off Filppulas contract.

Tampa: Filppula + 4th + conditional 7th

Philly: Streit

Fills needs for both teams but more importantly yzerman got rid of that NMC.

McJesus Christ

1.) 02 Mar 2017 02:33:38
I agree., trade deadline is getting boring. it use to be one of my, if not my favorite day of the season. Tampa deffinetly made a smart move,
Not sure what my team is up to. i'm still scratching my head. I like the moves for the depth, . we have 8 NHL dmen. wonder if one of em can convert to beocome a 2nd line centerman.? . Nah. didn't think so.
Maybe next year, Ill go to work. But probably not. as the hockey geek in me is jus waiting for the big trade.

2.) 02 Mar 2017 19:55:41
As soon as Shattenkirk moved, any and all excitement was quashed.

Blame the Vegas draft and the sheer qty of teams in the race still for the most boring uneventful trade deadline ever.

01 Mar 2017 01:40:46
Oil: Davidson

Habs: Desharnais

Confirmed.

Honestly pretty choked about it, but Davidson was gone regardless and Oilers got a third line center who has lots of playoff experience. But wow.

McJesus Christ

01 Feb 2017 22:57:07
Confirmed trade (Minor deal but a good one)

Oil: Moroz

Coyotes: Samuelsson

Oilers got lucky for coyotes GM having a brain fart with this one wow. Exactly what Oilers needed in the system and has the potential to play in the NHL if he can stay away from injuries and pick up his game.

McJesus Christ

If Oilers somehow found a miracle and dunked pouliot, I was just looking into Athanasiou on Detroit. He's been getting healthy scratched lately and maybe he's falling out of detroits coaches good books, and he also commented on his performance.

Oil: Reinhart/ Khaira/ 3rd round pick
Wings: Athanasiou

Wings are most likely heading into a new rebuild and they are probably looking for players exempt from expansion and/ or picks. Both players I mentioned are close to NHL ready (Khaira more than Reinhart) and they will certainly not be taken from Detroit if exposed. I'd also be willing to include both players and drop the pick as well.

But anyways it was just a thought I had.

McJesus Christ

1.) 07 Jan 2017 02:20:22
No way from Detroit. Even if AA is out of favour with Blashill, they will get more for him than those three.

2.) 07 Jan 2017 02:47:56
But why would Detroit trade somebody who is already impacting their roster at the age of 22 if they are headed into a rebuild?

3.) 07 Jan 2017 03:13:17
I don't see why the wings would trade AA for some scraps. Sorry but I doubt anything there the Wings would actually want. AA looks very promising and has speed to burn; you can't teach that.
