In my opinion if petro or parayko go. Liljgren (rhd) would be coming back. If you want blues to take zaitsev for his cap hit a 1st is coming back. Also with both parayko or petro nylander or kappy have to be main pieces.

Johnson a 24 year old 30 point projected player doesn't move the dial.

Start with nylander++ or kappy++++.

Good points, but what your also forgetting is Pietrangelo is out indefinitely with an injury, which is bound to lower his trade value, especially if he isn’t back closer to the deadline and the Blues keep losing.

I don't think that Petro will be as much as Parayko. He only has 1 year left before UFA. Maybe Kappy ++ for him. Doubt it would happen though as Dubas said he was looking for someone with term. He is making 6.5 now and not sure what he would want on his next deal.

I'd give 4 pieces one being a Zietsev comparable,
Yamamoto, Bear or Jones, 2019 1st and Russell for Parayko. That's 3 really good pieces and a still serviceable solid D man.
Not going to lie, there's big rumors floating around Parayko to Edm right now. Chiarelli and Armstrong were seen together for a legnthy time yesterday morning at Rogers arena in Edm, Blues played Oilers in Edm last night.

Thats pretty bad of an offer for Petro, its nor rasanen its at least sandin, but the, i don't think its too bad.

But colt, you aren't getting nylander, liljegren, sandin and a 1st and zaitsev for a two year UFA. he gets more than McD, but NOT that much more: maybe an extra 1st or so?

I think it’d be Nylander for Petro + leafs stated they wouldn’t make that trade and he’s much younger and cost controlled once he starts have 90 + point seasons.

I think that's a strong starting point.

No other combination works.

Kappy- best available rightwing with size speed scoring touch. (Unless nylander is available)

Liljgren - best available rhd prospect with top4 potential.

Zaitsev- cap dump

1st 2019 - compensation for cap dump and petro value.

I’m not sure what the price would be, or what’s fair. Like it’s been said, petro is hurt and hasn’t played in a while. So it would be a risk to give up a lot and hope he’s in prime shape by playoffs. Just not worth it for an exuberant price. Parayko is obviously a different case with 5 year term. Either way, it won’t be as bad of a return for St. Louis as some of the proposals on here and will probably be underwhelming to Colt after seeing what he’s expecting, if either get traded at all.

Yes nylander for petro+ is a joke. Fyi nylander doesn't look great right now. As for petro he has missed like 4 5 games to a hand injury it's not like it's his hip, knees, shoulders etc he took a puck off his hand.

well regardless of what we think, i doubt anything happens between TOR/ STL, dubas wasnt willing to part with Willy alone for Petro, don't think he'd want to add at all to Willy in that case. In contrast, who knows if Armstrong would even offer Petro for Nylander.

Willy is going to be cost controlled once he starts hitting 90 points? That may be a stretch to ever see Willy over 90. Not unless he gets 65 assists (which may be possible playing with Matthews and Tavares)
