BUF: Point

TBL: Ristolainen, Mittelstadt

Heard that Tampa was interested in Ristolainen. He makes just 5.4 and Mittelstadt is on elc. Would Tampa consider trading Point as he will get 8+?

1.) 09 May 2019 18:06:31
No, they would not. Point will be re-signed and I really hope the interest in Ristolainen isn't for real. But if it is, certainly not going to get Point lol.

26 Feb 2018 20:43:00
TBL: McDonagh, Miller

NYR: Namestnikov, Howden, Hajek, 1st, cond. 2nd

Love this trade as a bolts fan. Sell Namestnikov at the peak of his value and getting Miller also well done Stevie Y.

1.) 26 Feb 2018 21:14:40
The 1st is 2018 and the 2nd becomes a 1st if bolts win cup this season or next.

2.) 26 Feb 2018 21:35:08
Tampa is stacked. I think they jus screwed up Pitts 3 Peat.

3.) 26 Feb 2018 21:37:56
Even with the condition of another first its terrible for Rnagers. I know they got Mcdonaugh for nothing but still why trade him for a top 9 and a first and couple picks prospects. Plus add Miller who is worth more then Namestikov. I don't get it.

4.) 26 Feb 2018 23:12:20
@colt. Because they’re not going to be good for a few years, they’re already going to be paying a 35 year old goalie $8.5 million to play on a bad team, why waste the prime years of a Dman and a forward making a combined 7+ mill when you can get 2 1st round picks, 2 top prospects (one was a first last year and was on Canada’s juniors, the other a 2nd who played on Czech juniors) plus a decent young roster player?! You’re a habs fan, right? Take note of this for when your team is paying price 10.5, patches 4.5 and Weber 7.5 on a non playoff team again. You will wish they did something like this.

5.) 27 Feb 2018 00:24:29
Hajek is actually a pretty solid prospect. Looks like a potential 2nd pairing guy at least. Howden should be an nhl player someday I'm not as high on him as some though. i guess if you think miller is as good as namestikinov the deal doesn't look good for the rags. But I'm sure the rangers value him higher then miller.

6.) 27 Feb 2018 00:27:37
I think the dumbest part of the deal was adding Miller. There was no need. Namestnikov + Howden + 1st would have been fair for McD. Sure throw in Hajek to sweetin it.

7.) 27 Feb 2018 00:31:16
How is it terrible for the Rangers? They got a top 9 center (essentially replacement for Miller) 1-2 firsts, a center with a 3C floor and 2C ceiling and a likely second pair D man. that's not a bad package at all. The prospects were taken with picks in the top 50 within the past few years and both have been great post draft. I think the Rangers did quite well and Sergachev + was always an unrealistic pipe dream.

8.) 27 Feb 2018 00:54:39
Needle needle jim. How will you feel when the leafs are out in the 1st round and players like jvr, bozak and komarov walk. Bet you will be wishing the leafs made a trade or too as we'll? Don't fall off your pedestal bud leafs look ok but they haven't done jack yet.

9.) 27 Feb 2018 01:12:12
No I think Miller is worth 2 times more time Namestikov. Ok not two times. But a good amount more I of value I believe Namestikov is a 30 point to 40 point guy who is having a good season because of Stankos. Miller is way more proven and is on pace for 60 point only point point behind Namestikov.

10.) 27 Feb 2018 01:34:42
why are people saying unbelievable on a confirmed trade?

11.) 27 Feb 2018 02:03:36
Think Tampa got a he'll of a deal. BUT got fleeced. Namestikov is not worth Miller and 1 late first and possible first plus two ok prospect dosnt get u Mcdo sorry.

12.) 27 Feb 2018 08:12:59
If this is what was on the table for Karlsson alone, Dorion did the right thing hanging up the phone. Namestikov won't put people in seats. Have to wonder what Vegas was offering given what they gave up for Tatar.

13.) 27 Feb 2018 17:29:27
I never said leafs have done anything. I wouldn’t doubt they lose in the first round, they have to get through Boston and or Tampa. But losing in the first round when your team is full of really good 19-23 year olds who already will have 2 playoff experiences by the time this season ends is a lot different than not making the playoffs or getting bounced in the first round when your teams best players are in their very late 20s or early 30s and on massive contracts. If you can’t tell the difference I can’t help you.

14.) 27 Feb 2018 19:20:47
And yeah I forgot, when montreal was in the playoffs every year and winning the division and leafs were finishing 25th or worse, habs fans were real sympathetic to our situation, right? Lol.

15.) 28 Feb 2018 00:07:16
Maybe the habs will start a10 year rebuild now and in say 8 years we will have a team stacked with 19 to 23 year olds losing in the first round.

16.) 28 Feb 2018 16:07:12
Again, I find it sad that you can’t see for yourself, leafs fans wanted a rebuild for 10+ years and never got it. Trading first round picks and young assets to try to make the playoffs every year like they did under Burke and Ferguson was not a rebuild. Leafs rebuild started the day shanahan came in and said he was blowing it up. He was hired prior to the 2014/ 15 season. Since then drafted Matthews (which like mcdavid, gets no credit for, too obvious), marner, dermott, trades for Andersen, hyman, nylander, locked up kadri and rielly to very team friendly contracts, sent kessel packing for assets including kapanen and the picks to get Andersen, got out of phaneuf without retaining a penny, got rid of clarkson without it affecting the cap a bit. He fixed problems that 2 management regimes before created and built a playoff team in 2 seasons. hired Babcock, Lou, hunter and dubas, and stacked the system to where the marlies are a force. So, that “10 year rebuild” a competent management pulled off in 3 years.

17.) 28 Feb 2018 19:58:41
Correction* Obviously didn’t trade for nylander*, drafted nylander.

18.) 28 Feb 2018 22:25:18
Oh lord it's hard to be humble. When your perfect in every way.

19.) 01 Mar 2018 01:33:53
I’m not perfect, you’re just wrong. Don’t tell me my team has had a 10 year rebuild when they were giving away multiple first round picks and prospects for players lol that’s not a rebuild.

20.) 01 Mar 2018 04:54:40
It was suppose to be a rebuild they just couldn't do it right.

21.) 01 Mar 2018 22:32:25
It’s not supposed to be a rebuild when they’re trading 2 first rounders and a 2nd for a single player lol I don’t know what’s hard to figure out there. A rebuild gone wrong is having 4 1st overall picks in 6 seasons and not making the playoffs. Trading away picks and prospects to try to sneak into the playoffs is not a rebuild attempt. It’s a blatant way to be stock in mediocrity for a decade.

09 Feb 2018 08:29:56
What is Mike Greens value at the deadline?
Would this come close?

DET: 1st, 4th, Sustr, 3rd 2019 (if he resigns)
TBL: Green

Idk probaly even more at this years asking prices...

1.) 09 Feb 2018 14:15:01
No one knows the value of anyone till the first rental or two get moved to set the bar. Teams can ask whatever they want, but till someone pays that price, it’s not his value.

2.) 09 Feb 2018 20:17:16
I would imagine this proposal would atleast get the redwings attention.

3.) 10 Feb 2018 09:06:23
Sustr, 2nd and 3rd should do it, I would be hesitant offering a 1st.

25 Jan 2018 21:46:04
Saw this on several sources, Tampa Bay got calls on Slater Koekkoek from many teams. They said Ottawa and Boston were the most interested. I still think he can turn into a solid 2way top4 D (puts up solid numbers, 25GP,8P while just playing 11 min a night) , but not on the Lightning because they already have Hedman and Sergachev as their LHD. I think the Lightning would want a young dman back preferably a RH one. When Hedman is healthy again i think he could be available. So i'm just trying to predict 2 possible deals for him:

OTT: Koekkoek
TBL: Ceci

BOS: Koekkoek
TBL: Zboril

Idk, Tampa adds a little on both probaly but as a base maybe. I know Zboril is LH but didn't find any RHD on Boston that would fit into a deal like this. Are these maybe close or could you see another team being interested in Koekkoek?

1.) 25 Jan 2018 22:15:20
Lol Koekkoek will be a depth defense
He's worth as best as a guy like Kapanen.

2.) 26 Jan 2018 05:18:43
I don't think Koekkoek is going to be a depth guy. I think he will be/ already is a 3rd pair guy that could step into top 4 if needed due to injury. Obviously his trade value is low right now since Cooper has an aversion to playing him. He was good in minors last year and shown glimpses this year. doesn't get either of those guys though they won't get his true value in a trade.

09 Nov 2017 21:04:29
WPG: Koekkoek

TBL: Dano, 5th

Both players couldn't live up to their expectations so far and also don't get the amount of playing time they need. Winnipeg wants a young LHD with upside and Dano could thrive with good offensive teammates on the Bolts.

TBs top9
Namestnikov - Stamkos - Kucherov
Palat - Point - Gourde
Killorn - Johnson - Dano

WPGs D lines
Morrissey - Trouba
Koekkoek - Byfuglien
Kulikov - Myers

1.) 10 Nov 2017 07:11:11
No from tampa. They have enough offence and dano isn't that good

Nice win for our swiss boys today against the big canada :). Canada was clearly the better team but what an OT winner tho.

1.) 14 May 2017 01:54:34
Congrats Swiss. jus to bad we couldn't play best on best. lol.

2.) 14 May 2017 14:38:42
It seems Canada always has trouble against the Swiss.

14. TBL J. Välimäki D
15. NYI E. Pettersson C

Tried to fill most teams needs.

not a bad try, I'd expect Tippett slightly higher tho.

I was bored so i researched on elite prospects for possible 2017 draft steals:

Mason Shaw, C, 18, Medicine Hat, WHL
71G 27G 67A 94P
Ranked #69 by Future Considerations

Only 'problem' i suppose is his 5"9 181 size.

For comparison:
Cody Glass, C, 18, Portland, WHL
69G 32G 62A 94P
Ranked #16 by Future Considerations
Ranked #7 by ISS Hockey

Josh Brook, D, 17, Moose Jaw, WHL
69G 8G 32A 40P +17
RHD 6"2 185
Ranked #77 by Future Considerations

Would be a nice steal at 77 with these stats, his size and the fact that he is a RHD.

Do you know any other hidden gems in this years draft class?

1.) 01 May 2017 22:52:17
Jocton Chainey really caught my eye at the u18's this year, looked like Canada's best player at some points.

07 Apr 2017 20:59:53
Just wondering about Tampa Bays Forward protections in the expansion draft:

Stamkos NMC
Callahan NMC

Now Killorn or Namestnikov?

Killorn: 78GP 18G 16A -14 6yrs 4.45M$
Namestnikov: 71 GP 10G 17A -2 1yr 1.94M$

I would probaly protect Namestnikov, bc he is younger and has more upside. I think Killorns contract will decide it: in the case they think that they can invest the money in a better option, they will expose him. Other case, the fact they gave him 7yrs means they count him to their core.
Maybe Yzerman brings Callahan to waive his NMC and they protect both.

Which player would you protect?

1.) 07 Apr 2017 23:58:34
I personally would let them take Namestnikov and I think that's what the Lightning organization is doing because they're really high on Killorn.

2.) 08 Apr 2017 00:25:04
Killorn will be exposed imo.

3.) 09 Apr 2017 15:25:35
Killorn should be exposed, his contract was designed to be taken by LV.

03 Apr 2017 17:24:52
Some rumours in the past about Tyler Johnson being available. What do you think about his trade value and possible trade partners?
I could see the Hurricanes and maybe the Coyotes being interested in a Centerman.

1.) 03 Apr 2017 20:14:49
That all really depends on how TB values Point, if they think he can replace Johnson there is no reason not to trade him.

I'm not sure I see zona as a good fit, they have Strome, Keller, Dvorak, and others coming up there. Carolina is definitely an option, if a D comes back.

2.) 03 Apr 2017 20:23:13
Canucks could use him.

3.) 03 Apr 2017 23:01:44
With Tampas need for D Nashville jumps out at me. As does Anaheim if he switches to wing or goes 2A/ 2B with Kesler. Carolina. There are some pieces from Vancouver i'd want but not sure at johnsons value. Thinking Tanev too much and Subban could be had for less. Those are some of the ones that jump out at me.
