TBL 19/20

DET gets: F Ryan Callahan, F Alexei Lipanov, 2020 3rd rd pick
TBL gets: 2021 5th rd pick

Yzerman likes Callahan, he's overpaid obv but can still be a good 4th liner and mentor for the young F on DET. Wings pick up a solid C prospect and a 3rd rd pick in the process.

PHI gets: F Tyler Johnson, 2020 3rd rd pick (DET)
TBL gets: 2019 1st rd pick

Fletcher is aggressively turning the Flyers around, acquiring a skilled F who is on a fair contract. TB needs a shake-up after last years disappointment, saves some $ and gets the chance to draft late in the lottery.

CAR gets: F Tyler Johnson
TBL gets: 2019 2nd rd pick (BUF), 2019 2nd rd pick (NYR)

CAR gets: F Tyler Johnson, 2019 1st rd pick
TBL gets: D Dougie Hamilton, 2020 3rd rd pick (BUF)

CAR has long been rumored to be interested in skilled Fs. They get one in Johnson. Hamilton has been rumored to be on the move again as well. TB adds a 1st there. If Hamilton isn' in the deal, TB trades Johnson for 2 2nd rd picks to shake things up and move out some $.

VAN gets: F Ondrej Palat
TB gets: 2019 2nd rd pick, 2020 3rd rd pick

VAN adds a 2nd line W with strong defensive play, which is sth they could desperately use. TB - same as above - loses some $ and shakes the team up while gaining a couple mid picks.

C Brayden Point
- 3 years: 6.25M AAV OR
- 5 years: 8M AAV OR
- 7-8 years: 9M AAV

W Adam Erne
- 1 year: 1M

F Danick Martel
- 1 year: 750k

D Anton Stralman
- 1 year: 3M

RW Justin Williams
- 1 year: 3.5M

Lineup (assuming Callahan -> DET, Johnson -> CAR w/out Hamilton, Point -> 5 year deal)

Miller (5.25M) - Stamkos (8.5M) - Williams (3.5M)
Palat (5.3M) - Point (8M) - Kucherov (9.5M)
Killorn (4.45M) - Cirelli (0.73M) - Gourde (5.17M)
Erne (1M) - Stephens (0.83M) - Joseph (0.73M)
extra: Martel (0.75M)

Hedman (7.88M) - Sergachev (0.89M)
McDonagh (6.75M) - Cernak (0.7M)
Coburn (1.7M) - Stralman (3M)
extra: Rutta (1.3M)

Vasilevskiy (3.5M)
Domingue (1.15M)

F: 53.71M
D: 22.13M
G: 4.65M
Total: 80.49M
Projected Cap: 82M
Cap Space left: 1.51M

Leaves TB with enough room to make 2 call-ups during the season or a trade later in the year.

Constructive feedback welcome, thanks for reading.

1.) 20 Jun 2019 02:52:46
No from Philadelphia and Carolina the rest seem good.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 13:59:18
Why would a rebuilding team (Vancouver) trade picks away. not very well thought out IMO.

3.) 21 Jun 2019 00:27:23
It's "only" 2nd rounders and it's not forbidden for what you label rebuilding teams to trade a pick here and there to acquire an asset they could use very well. Seems like you're not following the NHL real closely. That was one very minor part of my entire proposal anyways lol.

26 Oct 2018 16:23:48
Hey folks,

as you might know, we have a fantasy hockey league with members from this website. One of the members has been missing for 3 weeks now, so we're looking to replace him. It's a keeper league in which every team gets to keep 6 players for next season.
Some short info on the league: 10 teams, 20 man rosters, scoring for skaters: G, A, PIM, +/ -, SOG, STP, ATOI, HIT and for goalies W, GAA, SV%

You don't have to be super active if you don't want to but you should at least set your lines each day and make an add/ drop every once in a while when it's necessary.
The team you'd be overtaking is currently 9th/ 10 because of the previous owners inactivity but has some good players, for example: Giroux, Aho, Barkov, Gostisbehere, Marchessault, Couturier, W. Karlsson, Monahan, Barrie, Stone and Bishop among others.

So, if you're interested, let me know below this post. In case several people are interested, it might not hurt to list your previous fantasy hockey experiences and your usual activity level. Also feel free to include a reason why you are the perfect new member for our sweet lil league.

Ps: Also thanks to the nhl-trade-rumors.com page for making this possible.

1.) 26 Oct 2018 16:39:31
I'd like to join.

Previous experience includes countless insults to Finest related to his being bald and fat. But don't let that make you think I'm one dimensional, I'm good at Insulting VB's intelligence and complimenting Finest's stupidity as well.

As for activity, I'll usually be good for an average of two solid chirps a day. Sometimes it'll be zero, others I'll get on a roll and notice stupidity from Finest and hit 20-30.

I'm the perfect member because I know you love me.

Thank you for your consideration.

Big Shank.

2.) 26 Oct 2018 16:57:34
shanks needs a second team to combine with his current one to stand a chance. i vote for shanks.

3.) 26 Oct 2018 17:00:39
lol two great comments to begin with - as you see, league is quite fun.

4.) 26 Oct 2018 17:07:16
Previous experience: 4 years of intense hockey pooling lol.

Thank you for you consideration,

Boom Boom.

5.) 26 Oct 2018 17:51:53
What platform do you use to run the league?
Shank - it's been a while - good to see you post again.

6.) 26 Oct 2018 22:38:47
@TT: forgot to mention that, yeah, good find. We're using Fantrax and it's a free league, in case anyone was wondering about that.

7.) 27 Oct 2018 19:30:55
Don't be shy guys.

ThunderTurkey and BoomBoom interested, anyone else?

6. The Leafs will finish in the East's WC2 spot, 1 point ahead of the Sabres. Matthews will score less than 35 goals and less than 65 points.

17. Ben Bishop leads the Stars to 108 points, which makes Dallas win the West, Ken Hitchock the Jack Adams Award and Ben Bishop another 2nd place in Vezina voting.
18. The Jets finish ahead of the Blackhawks and will advance at least 1 round in the playoffs. Ehlers, Scheifele, Wheeler and Laine form the leagues highest scoring 4 players with 280+ points.

1.) 04 Oct 2017 20:20:23
Number 18 and your playoff selections are contradictory.

2.) 04 Oct 2017 22:56:35
nice post.

3.) 04 Oct 2017 23:25:41
Damn yes, they are. Was super hard to keep track of everything with so many predictions. I'll take Jets over Blues in WC1.

4.) 06 Oct 2017 16:36:36
Lots of thought into that.
I think Droiun will flourish as a center. 70 to 75 points.
I don't see the Bruins in 1st. Tampa, Toronto, Montreal would be my order. With Boston battling the Habs for 3rd and wildcard.
Where is Kane in top 5 scorers?

5.) 07 Oct 2017 09:29:32
Left him out due to loss of Panarin. He could obviously still end up in the top 3-5. Just a feeling of mine.
Drouin is not build to be a 1C. I'm prolly one of the biggest Drouin fans alive, but he's a winger and in no world a 1C. Put AG at C and have Drouin on the wing, that line could be great.

Very good points made by jbs32.
Also I 100% agree on Marner being better than Matthews. That's why the AM contract is so bad for TOR. That's the contract Marner should've gotten, if anyone.
"You think he (Marner) will be known as a top 3 player by the age of 25?" Well guess what, Kucherov IS known as a top 3 player at age 25.
We'll see whether that will be the case with Marner, personally, I doubt it. Rather top 20, which is still elite, obv, no one is denying that.

Leafs wishful thinking.
With Gusev there is no "unloading" to do anyways, he's a FA, so VGK could just not sign him or trade his rights, that have actual value. Miller is a good D and on a good contract. Not a cap dump. Leafs pay if they want those two pieces. Pay way more than what you're proposing.

Alright, I'll sit here and wait for Marner to get 130+ pts by age 25. You're insane, VB. THe age 22 comparison is bs and several people already explained this to you on this website - if you'd listen, you'd know.

As jbs said, fair price to pay for Miller, probably done by the wrong team, tho.
And just because TB has good use for the cap space the Miller trade creates, doesn't mean he was s cap dump. Cap dumps are players who aren't worth their contract, which isn't the case here, clearly.
Miller is a very useful top 6 F, can play all 3 positions, physical play.
So this is in no way comparable to the Marleau trade, but since it's from VB, I'm not surprised anwyways.
