leafs need to trade there forwards.
Nylander needs to go and fetch them a quality defense defenseman. then same to be said for Ceci
Keep top line of Matthew's Tavares and Marner Muzzan and Riley
and the young guys
hyman Johnson Kapenan these guys should be made available Nylander kerfoot Barrie those guys need to be replaced with defenders and hard noise defensive forwards..

I would say adding forward depth and secondary scoring is just as important as help on defense.

Yes, Toronto can't blame defense this year, can't blame goaltending. The blame clearly goes on the big 4. Getting shut out twice on home ice in a 5 game series isn't acceptable.
Dave McCarthy said on the radio today that the problem with the top 4 in Toronto is that when the games are "easy", they'll be there and make you look stupid racking up points. But when the games are "hard", they want nothing to do with them and won't put in the work to get through.
I guess $40 mil doesn't buy much these days.

Of the big 4 forwards Nylander will not get a true #1 d-man in return. Marner might but his contract will scare off potential suitors. Tavarez won'y waive his no move contract while Matthews is almost untouchable in Toronto. Matthews traded to Arizona would get the Leafs a big over payment for Arizona's hometown boy and franchise savior. They could get a true #1 d-man, a good young center and a great prospect for Matthews.

I don’t know why everyone thinks we got Ceci to be our top RHD. We got him to get rid of Zaitsev. Why Dubas kept him though made no sense to me.
Also islandjet you obviously haven’t watched Nylander play if you say Ehlers can get a top defenceman but Nylander can’t. Nylander could easily get Pesce or Severson. Parayko is probably going to cost Marner, but you could also possibly make an argument for Klingberg with his contract up in a couple years and a mediocre year.

Also @Barrie stfu you suck lol go get 2 mill in free agency lmao 🤪. Muzzin got injured a couple times. They just happened at the worst possible times, aka when Reilly was already injured during the regular season and of course during the qualifier. He is still a great defenceman who also needs a much better defenceman then Holl. That’s not to say Holl isn’t bad, he is obviously NHL caliber, but probably should be a 3rd pairing guy who can move into the top 4 in case of injury. Kind of like what Dermott did this year.

I have never said Ehlers could get a top d-man alone so concentrate on your weak Nylander and stop lying about what I wrote. Dream on that any team will give up a top d-man for over paid, soft, lazy, perimeter player in Nylander. Thinking like this is why the Leafs have won nothing in 53 years and only won a playoff series 16 years ago. All their players are generational, until they are run out of town because they can never live up to the hype.

Matthew's proved he's worth keeping after this series he played hard on both ends. and that wasn't enough need the team to play hard maker and Tavares both loaded hard but once there off they had no game.
