The salary cap has more to do with anything than the players.

Winnipeg is overvaluing not the player but the return. In NHL history, it's a fact that when a player requests a trade, next to never do you get what yo wanted back in return. Other factors are involved. Winnipeg needs a player more on the ice than the bench, and as time goes on the value falls further. Look at the same situation throughout NHL history.

Other factors are involved. So a rising Davidson, a former 1st overall that can still grow and learn would be what it comes down to or another deal with another team like this deal. Winnipeg needs a player more on the ice than the bench, and as time goes on the value falls further. Look at the same situation throughout NHL history.
