EDM- Davidson, Yakupov, 2018 2nd
WPG- Trouba

Davidson will be first or second pairing left side D on Winnipeg, he's just a little older than Trouba but a lot cheaper. Jets don't have much on the right wing I don't think, Yakupov fills a need.
I feel like that's one of the best offers Edmonton can make but not sure it'll be enough and Winnipeg might want a more proven quality LHD. Thoughts?

Does Edmonton have a 2018 2nd? I know they are missing 1 or 2 but I can't remember which ones?

I mean I'd obviously make that trade but I imagine a lot of people are going to come in saying this is awful lol.

Yeah I think Boston gets there 2017 2nd. But possibly make it a first anyways? Depends on what Davidsons value is I think.

Yes, Winnipeg will be all over taking scraps like this for Trouba. Again Oiler people, your GM traded Hall for a lesser def. You may ridicule the Draisattyl plus for him or the Nurse plus but that is the price from Edmonton. Chevy would be fired for taking something less.

Winnipeg is overvaluing not the player but the return. In NHL history, it's a fact that when a player requests a trade, next to never do you get what yo wanted back in return. Other factors are involved. So a rising Davidson, a former 1st overall that can still grow and learn would be what it comes down to or another deal with another team like this deal. Winnipeg needs a player more on the ice than the bench, and as time goes on the value falls further. Look at the same situation throughout NHL history.

#1 the trade demand doesn't help Winnipeg, however it doesn't overly hurt them either. It's been known for a while that they weren't getting close, this just makes it official. And the team still holds most of the power and doesn't HAVE to move him.

#2 if that's all Edmonton Is willing to put up, then he stays put and sits out or, more likely, another team with a need for good young RHD (half the league if not more) steps up with better. Bruins obviously quickly come to mind, leafs also. I just don't see that package coming close to being enough to scare other teams out of the sweepstakes.

Also ziggy. There's exceptions to every rule. Yashin demanded a trade from Ottawa, sens got Spezza, Chara and mckult. Already oft injured bure demanded out of Vancouver and got a good young jovanovski and a 1st.
There's also the possibility that Trouba decides playing on a short term deal is in his best interest and they mend fences like drouin. Just because a player isn't happy doesn't mean he has to be given away for a garbage package. Lots of options for the team still.
