Because things are not looking so good for Lindholm to resign thought of two trades

To Columbus
Elias Lindholm

To Calgary
Cole Sillinger
Denton Mateychuk
Andrew Peeke
2023 2nd Round 34th Overall

OR

To Detroit
Elias Lindholm

To Calgary
Carter Mazur
William Wallinder
2023 1st Round 17th Overall
2023 2nd Round 43rd Overall

Are these overpayments? Both trades would be assumed that he would sign extensions with both teams

Yes, these are HUGE overpayment. The return for Lindholm would probably be far less. Detroit would politely say "no thank you", as would Columbus to these proposals.

It’s always fascinating to watch a rookie GM make their first deal. Will they make a “rookie deal” and earn a poor return, or will they show unforeseen wisdom that earned them the GM job in the first place?

The CGY ownership model is challenging since you have so many owners that impede and interfere with the decision-making process. Was Conroy chosen because he’s a “good guy” who was liked by most for his long service to the organization, or is he actually the keen intellectual who will help reset a club who is in choppy waters after failing to act on Sutter and losing Treliving?

I can’t wait to see the first trade Conroy makes. Maybe it’ll be a good one, but I can’t help but think CGY blew it by losing an experienced GM like Treliving.

Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see he manages a situation where so many key players want out, and every other GM is waiting to pounce and take advantage of a rookie GM.

Debate all you want, Lindholm has been and still is one of the most underrated players in the NHL.
The Flames will do their best to sign him. They obviously need more on their team, but he is a keeper. If nothing else, they want other teams to think that.

The results from NHL trades and drafts are mixed at best, but Lindholm completing one of the best first lines in the league with Gaudreau and Laine is about as sure as it gets.
I could easily see the discussion with the Jackets starting with Sillinger and that early 2nd, but don’t think that’s nearly enough for the Flames.

Summer of Conny

To Carolina
Tyler Toffoli 50% Retained (2.125)

To Calgary
Jack Drury
Ronan Seeley
2023 30th Overall

To Florida
Noah Hanifin

To Calgary
Anthony Duclair
Mackie Samoskevich
Justin Sourdif

To Anaheim
Dan Vladar

To Calgary
2023 3rd Round 65th Overall

Carolina gets scoring help with Toffoli on a cheap contract. Calgary gets future help

Another Calgary Florida trade. Florida needs D help really bad. Flames would hope that Duclair would help Huberdeau and Lindholm resigns. Plus because I think Hanifin has a ton of value THIS off-season, Flames could also get 2 solid prospects.

Need to trade Vladar and saw that he was linked to Anaheim so just throwing it out there lol

I like the trades except the Florida one tbh

2.) 24 Jun 2023 23:15:20
I think Hanfin gets more then that but not as much as the absurd price NotACasual thinks.

Originally had defensive prospect Evan Nause in the trade as well but thought it was maybe an overpayment

After looking at some of the other trades posted, did some thinking and made this 3 Team Trade that works for all the teams

To Calgary Flames
Travis Konecny

Amadeus Lombardi
William Wallinder
2023 1st Round Pick 17th Overall
2023 3rd Round Pick 74th Overall

To Philadelphia Flyers
Connor Zary
Adam Ruzicka
2023 1st Round Pick 16th Overall
2023 2nd Round Pick 48th Overall

Filip Zadina
2023 2nd Round Pick 42nd Overall
2024 3rd Round Pick

To Detroit Red Wings
Noah Hanifin (signs extension)
Dan Vladar
Scott Laughton

Calgary gets top 6 winger help in Konecny who I think is meant to be a Flame. They also get prospect help for a weaker pool and the opportunity to still pick in round 1 of a strong draft

Detroit gets a really good #3 Dman who can be a #2 until Edvinsson takes over that role. A backup to Husso that will give them more stability in net. And also get Laughton who is a solid top 9 forward that will bring leadership to their younger core.

Philadelphia gets more draft capital which they clearly want/need. A good prospect in Zary who as a Flames fan I hate to see go. And two players that can play for a team that's not trying to be good and get fresh starts

hanifan is not a third pairing guy he is a really good 2 pairing dman at the least.

2.) 16 Jun 2023 20:12:28
By #3 I mean the better of a teams second line pairing. On Detroit he would be a number 2 behind Seider

3.) 18 Jun 2023 01:32:32
Detroit’s most loaded position is LD. Wallinder should be the future 3D behind Edvinsson and Seider. Those picks are more important to get more scoring, which is desperately needed.

Teams don't overpay for average backups. I like the idea of the Philly trade, hanifin should be traded for a forward but could find someone for straight across. Dube is to good to throw in and plus a 2nd seems like a lot.

2.) 11 Jun 2023 20:16:22
I think Dube still has value for the Flames. Take himout of the trade and I think that would be fair.

3.) 11 Jun 2023 21:35:32
No from Calgary on the Philadelphia trade and no from Columbus. And you layout your trades how I do lmao caught me off guard

4.) 11 Jun 2023 22:44:03
Haha sorry I saw your trades and thought you made them look so clean so I copied

5.) 12 Jun 2023 05:51:47
Thank you lol

6.) 13 Jun 2023 03:27:15
Hanfin holds zero value to the Flyers as UFA who will walk the tire fire of the organization. The flyers will finish last in the NHL next season why would they target Hanfin and why would he resign.

7.) 16 Jun 2023 13:05:45
@vbbbvvbb Hanifin probably fetches Philly a 1st and a prospect at the deadline, more if they retain on his contract. Konecny has another year after next season and my guess is he would walk. Dube probably likely to sign in Philly as he would be getting ample ice time. Makes a lot of sense for Philly actually if they are wanting to restock on draft picks and rebuild.

I like that, I just worry that Mangiapane or Dube would get screwed out of proper ice time….Unless Coronato starts in the AHL
