Tor: Nylander, Lilijegreen

Flo: Ekblad

That's it simple hockey trade that I really think both teams at least think about it

He’s exactly what the leafs need may be abit overrated as when he came in he had Dahlin like Hype. I think best casenhe becomes a Petrangelo like dman but I take this for sure.

What does Nylander sign for in this proposal? It would have to be above what the leafs are willing to pay him. can't really assess any Nylander trades without know what the assumed contract would be. Florida could work because of the lower state taxes but i think he would get more outside endorsements somewhere else.

I think this one could work for both sides.

On Toronto's end, I'd be worried about the concussions though, but I guess if you aren't going to sign Nylander anyways then losing Liljegren would be worth the risk.

I might be in the minority, but I don't think Ekblad is all he is made out to be. Many treat him like the 1st overall pick he was. But his numbers do not show he is all that good. Having been in the league as long as he has he should be much better. I wouldn't want Toronto to give that much up for him.

Its injuries that slowed him down but he's just 22 years old guy. Already has multiple 30+ point season as a defensemen and can play 25+ minutes a game. Plus defensemen can take more time to get to they're full potential. he's at Seth Jones level atm and can get better then that iml.

Leafs get a “free pass” with Nylander. He literally is a spare part that we don’t need. A very valuable and highly sought after spare part. We have the luxury of having this extra 1RW just laying around not doing anything. We obviously should be trading him, as the return in a player of this caliber is usually rather impressive. Do we really want to be trading him for a guy that has question marks surrounding him? I mean, every time Ekblad gets hit awkwardly, or stays Dow a bit too long, you got to ask yourself “Is this it? ”. Not something you want to be asking about your star top line defender.

I love Ekblad. I really do. But Florida does too. Barkov May be captain, but Ekblad is the face of the franchise. Florida went all in on him. They have absolutely no one decent to replace him. I’m pretty sure Ekblad has more value to Florida than Nylander.
