Has anyone heard of a Pavelic to the Kings rumor?
For who?

Nope. And if Quick somehow ends up out for the year, they won't settle for Pavelec. They'll take a much bigger name like Bishop or Fleury.

Why would they pay the price for Bishop or Fluery? Pavalec would be a good option.

^ @hugecaosfan what do they do at the end of the year when they give away a top goalie for nothing to the expansion team.

Bishop is a a pending free agent anyway. So you can consider him as what in baseball they call a "rental. " Then they can protect Quick.

How is Pavelec a good option? He got sent to the minors by Winnepeg. Tough to do these days.

Acquiring Bishop would essentially allow them to compete this year while not affecting their future in goal. That being said with no inclination to resign him i'm not sure what they would be willing to give.

Because they only need a goalie for 1 year. Quick will be back next year. Bishop only has 1 year left on his contract.

LA may need a quality goalie if Quick decides to go the surgery route over rehab. Bishop would be a good option to go after but when weighing in the question of the cost, it would be HIGH for LA. Why? Consider this: it's already known that Yzerman is weighing keeping Bishop and letting him walk or trading him for assets. TB is going to be a strong playoff contender this season so that's not an easy choice. To make the decision to move him this early in the season would require a very good return in spite of his UFA status. Add to that the fact that LA would be reaching out almost in desperation, TB is at an obvious advantage in this situation. If I were TB and actually decided upon making that trade, I'd be asking for Enroth, LA's top prospect, and a mid-round pick for Bishop and a late pick. And if that doesn't work for LA, well, then Bishop helps TB reach the playoffs and maybe win the Cup this year. TB holds all the cards in this situation.

That said, I don't see it working for either team regardless. Too expensive for LA, and too early for TB to move Bishop.

Chirp is completely right. Bishop would be nice for LA, but he will cost them too much to acquire him. For all the goalies that are considered to be on the "block", Pavelec is the best option for LA.

Pavalec isn't needed in Winnipeg but he can still keep a good team afloat. But Quick is out for a full season? I didn't know that.

He's the right guy to lead them to 8th in the division. You are 100% right on that.

You can ask for Enroth but he plays for the leafs.

Pavalec has never had a cup contending team in front of him. could be interesting.

lol @ JF12, Pavelec has barely had a playoff team in front of him.

HA! Good catch, Leafs17. I'm living In the past. Haha.
Darn you smart leafs fans. Both of you. :P

Kuemper outta Minne seems like the next best bet by my thoughts. He's played NHL, he's semi-proven, he would be cheap. Could see Martinez and a late pick for Kuemper and a 2-3rnder.

About the team in front of Pavelec, he made it to the playoffs with them a few years ago, so it's hard to say that.

How about Howard from the Red Wings?
