I could see

TBL: Julius Honka, Antti Niemi 25% Retained, conditional 2nd Round (2017) (Becomes a 1st with Bishop resigning with stars)
DAL: Ben Bishop

Then the Lightning trade Niemi to the Leafs for a conditional draft pick or future considerations.

JF12

1.) 18 Jul 2016 18:10:38
why would you want neimi.

2.) 18 Jul 2016 18:27:16
That's actually pretty good trade for Tampa, and the conditional is a good thought. However idk if Toronto would want Niemi, and does Tampa really want him?

3.) 18 Jul 2016 18:29:15
I don't know if that's enough honestly. Especially with the added burden of trying to find a take do Niemi.

4.) 18 Jul 2016 18:57:04
TB should keep Nemo. I mean I like Vasy and I believe in him but you would want a capable vet backing him up like Nemo. Don't see why leafs would need him with Anderson already there.

5.) 18 Jul 2016 19:14:47
Reason why I have Niemi going immediately is because Tampa needs more cap space. Leafs have the flexibility to take on the contract and get a veteran bac-up.

6.) 18 Jul 2016 20:29:38
Very good trade and the Lightning wouldn't need to trade Niemi because they do get cap 2.5 mil in space for taking him at that proce compared to Bishop's deal.

7.) 18 Jul 2016 21:13:04
I feel if they are moving Bishop they want more than to free up 2.5 mill for a worse goalie to backup Vasi. I've said it before and I'll say it again Niemi coming back is a favour to Dallas not a need from Tampa. It would mean Dallas adding more not less. Tampa doesn't want to take back a cap dump of any sort. Honka and a first for an extended Bishop is low although I'll admit Honka and a 2nd for 1 year of Bishop is probably a slight over pay.

8.) 18 Jul 2016 21:27:13
Jbs32

They'd be able to move Niemi if he has retained salary. Especially if you need a veteran back-up. Like Clarkson, Phaneuf and have been moved and everyone thought they were untradeable.

9.) 18 Jul 2016 22:55:36
I feel like more often then not teams will have a contract extension lined up before a trade. So I'd say the value should be closer to bishop with a contract. And I agree taking Niemi isn't a need for Tampa but would make things a lot easier for Dallas.

10.) 19 Jul 2016 04:59:05
Difference between Niemi and guys like Clarkson and Phaneuf is there is really no goalie market. If there was he'd have been moved by now. Only market is Dallas looking for a starter Enroth doesn't even have a team yet. Taking on a player the other team can't trade and saying the return you get for him is a significant part of the trade is flawed. If they wanna do that Dallas can do the work to move Niemi with retained salary somewhere else and pass this pieces on to tampa as part of the Bishop deal.

11.) 19 Jul 2016 08:37:17
Jbs is spot on in everything he says.

10 Jul 2016 00:36:15
EDM: Matt Dumba, Charlie Coyle
MIN: RNH, Griffin Reinhart

RNH>Coyle (RNH has a higher ceiling)
Dumba>Reinhart

Even swap?

JF12

1.) 10 Jul 2016 03:37:35
Iv posted this before and people got mad saying Coyle won't leave the Wild and they value him too much. Lol. I thought it was fair but who knows.
But in my opinion I think it's a good trade. However, since wild got Staal, I don't think they will trade for another centerman.
So I say this doesn't happen for that reason.

2.) 10 Jul 2016 03:42:10
Honestly I'm tired of hearing potential I think rnh is going to be a 50 60 pt #2 center. Nothing wrong with that. But please stop with potential and higher ceiling crap. Actions speak louder than words, hype potential.

3.) 10 Jul 2016 04:01:22
The Oilers aren't shopping Nuge, If his name comes up its because the other team brings it up. Then the price goes up and talks don't get much further.

4.) 10 Jul 2016 04:55:54
Colt that's exactly what I would say about Parayko. I said earlier on another post, if he can be consistent with his game and have a strong year this upcoming year, then he could be a very valuable player for Blues in the future.

5.) 10 Jul 2016 04:57:53
Im with colt

6.) 10 Jul 2016 04:58:16
And mcjesus

7.) 10 Jul 2016 05:24:52
Yeah like Nuge is straight up better than Coyle. Nothing needed to be said, and a 50-60 point #2 centerman is all good. Two-way game. I hope he stays on Oil for a long time, it's nice finally having 3 good centerman.

8.) 10 Jul 2016 07:07:59
McChrist parayko is not hyped he is being labeled for his performance which was consistent in the playoffs and in the regular season. He is already better than any dman your team posseses. I'm not being an ass about it I'm being factual. He had an outstanding rookie year. You edm fans have pretty much dumped on him all year. But let's face facts he is a top2 dman with outstanding stats for a rookie I only see him improving from here on. He plays 20+ mins is fast great skater long reach huge slap shot with accuracy and is almost as good as petro defensively but just as good offensively as a rookie. Even if he replicates or improves his play next year you all will still try and say he isn't that good but we will see.

9.) 10 Jul 2016 07:22:16
Lol ok all I said is he needs to have another good season so relax, wasn't disagreeing with you on him. And by the way you absolutely do hype him up a lot, but nothing wrong with that. Everyone does it. So allg bro.

10.) 10 Jul 2016 16:12:07
Colt, honestly I really like Parayko and I can't see any team not wanting him. But in saying that, if he was as good as you set him up to be why didn't he win the Calder or even get in the top 3?

11.) 10 Jul 2016 16:37:09
Harry I agree, big time agree, but there was McDavid, a 24 year old, a guy who somehow put up points like crazy, Eichel, Larkin, Domi etc. Super super good rookie class this year, maybe one of the strongest in the last 10 years, so I agree if he is so good he should have made it into consideration. But this was a damn strong rookie class so that's all I'll say to back up Parayko, but you do have a really good point.

12.) 10 Jul 2016 16:38:45
I'd rather have Larsson then Paryanko.

13.) 10 Jul 2016 19:14:28
Bard down beauty you are the only one v in the world who would say that outside Larsons own mother. Lol

Parayko was in consideration and placed 7th in Calder considerating

1)panarin 2)mcjessus 3) ghost 4)eichel 5) domI 6)Larkin 7)parayko
8)duclair 9)Gibson 10)Sam reinhart

So he ranked top 10 but didn't make top3. This was probably the best class of rookies I have seen in a long time.

Really interesting development from the draft floor. A fan snapped a picture of the draft board and it had this displayed:

9. NYI from MTL
14. NYR from BOS
19. MTL from NYI

It's a really interesting picture. It appears there may be unannounced trades that will be announced by Bettman tommotow. Guess we'll know tommorow. The picture doesn't look tampered with. Just speculation but it's interesting. I could see these being possible trades.

BOS: Chris Kreider (maybe a pick too)
NYR: 14th Overall

MTL: Ryan Strome, 19th Overall +
NYI: 9th Overall.

1.) 23 Jun 2016 21:54:34
Where did you find this?

2.) 23 Jun 2016 22:08:58
I heard it was like that just becuase they are testing the board if there were poetental trades to test the graphic and what not.

3.) 23 Jun 2016 22:11:51
do you know how to see this pic? jw because i'm interested.

4.) 23 Jun 2016 22:13:57
Nope it is a test they do it every year.

5.) 23 Jun 2016 22:16:36
It's been reported that they are testing the board and the that they do this every year.

6.) 23 Jun 2016 22:50:21
Where can we see that picture?

7.) 23 Jun 2016 22:51:47
That would be crazy if this is true.

8.) 23 Jun 2016 22:55:09
Says BOS from SJ, ARI from NYR, CAR from LA, WPG from CHI aswell

9.) 23 Jun 2016 23:30:26
Twitter

10.) 23 Jun 2016 23:33:11
Could be interesting as Marc Bergevin is about to have a press conference!

11.) 24 Jun 2016 00:15:27
@Johnny Those picks are already traded.

12.) 24 Jun 2016 00:48:48
Everyone traded with everyone else. Draft floor will be a frenzy! Some may lose limbs, if not their lives! The end is nigh!

Either that or they were testing the board.

17 Jun 2016 20:00:23
PIT: Dennis Wideman, rights to Karri Ramo and and 2017 2nd Round Pick (or 1st Round)
CGY: Marc-Andre Fleury.

JF12

1.) 17 Jun 2016 20:18:12
Why would Pittsburgh take any salary back? They have no need to trade fleury, so take out those 2 useless contracts and put in some value.

2.) 17 Jun 2016 21:34:09
Wideman isn't useless. He's a UFA next year so the $$ doesn't matter a whole lot, Schultz isn't being re-signed, and Wideman is a solid player. The salary needs to even out which is why he's in the deal. Fleury has the bad contract considering his play. So they'll need to take salary back. The rights to Ramo is to potentially sign him for a back-up. They may need to add a prospect like Kylington but it's not that far off.

3.) 18 Jun 2016 01:31:14
Calgary nor pittsburgh can take any salary right now. So i'm gunna say not bad but never gunna happen aswell

14 Jun 2016 20:49:35
With rumors swirling what kind of package could Malkin get?

I think one of the only teams that could pull off a deal would be the Blues or Panthers (Maybe Montreal, but unlikely) . But they wouldn't move him to the east. Do I think the Blues have the best shot.

PIT: Kevin Shattenkirk (extended), Robby Fabbri, and Alex Steen (Maybe Barbashev involved)

STL: Evgeni Malkin

Not sure if this works or not. Thoughts?

JF12

1.) 14 Jun 2016 21:40:00
That's a lot for Malkin imo, and I seriously don't think he's going anywhere. They just won a cup and he's locked up long term, idk who started this malkin stuff but its not going to happen. Unless pitt gets an unreal deal, like this.

2.) 14 Jun 2016 21:43:10
Malkin might have been moved if the pens missed the PO's or went out early but after this run I doubt he gets moved.

3.) 14 Jun 2016 22:56:21
If i were the blues i wouldn't do it.

4.) 14 Jun 2016 23:54:29
Blues will not be trading fabrri or steen they have those two penciled in to play with tarasenko.

I like malkin but he would cause more holes than solve in our lineup.

Blues are set to roll the following line up with out major changes

Fabbri steen tarasenko
Swartz lehtera rattie
Berglund statsny backes/ brouwer
Upshall sobotka/ brodziak reaves

Jaybo petro
Edmunds parayko
Gunner schmaltz lindbohm.

Just wanted to post and remind everyone about mental health victims of the NHL. As much as we argue here, we cannot forget Rick Rypien and Wade Belak among others. We will never forget you guys.

Here are a couple trades

DAL: Dion Phaneuf, P. A. Parenteau
TOR: Ales Hemsky, Jamie Oleksiak, 1st Round (2016)

FLA: Joffrey Lupul
TOR: 3rd Round (2016), 4th Round (2017)

JF12

1.) 28 Jan 2016 02:03:53
At thise rate Lupul and a 3rd might get you a 4th. He's really just a bandaid causing dead cap space.

2.) 29 Jan 2016 20:12:17
i don't know if lupul is worth that much.

07 Jan 2016 23:54:29
ANA: Johnathan Drouin, Matt Carle
TBL: Sami Vatanen, 1st 2016.

JF12

06 Jan 2016 23:46:10
Gotta say I'm surprised

NSH: Johansen
CBJ: Jones

David Poile said he had no intention of trading Jones. But wow, what a trade and his makes Nashville legit Stanley Cup Contenders.

Must be rough to be a Hawks fan essentially traded.

CHI: Ryan Garbutt, Rob Scuderi

For Patrick Sharp!

JF12

1.) 15 Dec 2015 05:42:07
Beats not being cap compliant.
Was a necessary move. Not the best return, but whadda ya going to do?

2.) 15 Dec 2015 19:10:23
im sure they would have rather given up bickell for nothing, but no one would take him, so they had to do something else and this is what the chose. also, can't feel too bad for them, since they have won 3 cups in 6 years and still have two of the best forwards in the league and arguably the best defenceman. many teams woudl wish to have their "problems"

24 Jun 2015 19:31:23
Just wanted your thoughts on this. With the draft being so deep in recent years do you think they should add the 8th and 9th rounds to the draft like in the past?

Notable players such as Pekka Rinne were a 9th round pick.

With so many talented hockey players should this be up for discussion?

Imagine how many kids could have panned out if the 8th and 9th rounds were back.

There could have been more "Pekka Rinne's"

JF12

1.) 24 Jun 2015 21:53:54
If they do have talent, they'll get signed as free agents out of college. No need for unnecessary picks IMO.

2.) 25 Jun 2015 08:30:01
Agree, also if there will be two more future franchises, that has been filed for, there will be more picks taken per round.

No way from Anaheim.

I do think Galchenyuk will become a number 1 center. But a good pro comparasion isn't even close to Johnathan Toews. More like a Nicklas Backstrom, underrated but one of the best passers in the game with a great shot along with the speed.

If he wants to be talked about in the conversation with Toews he needs to become a stellar penalty killer as well.
