Habs and Islanders talking.

Could it be a Galchenyuk, tavares swap?

Galchenyuk, Sherbak, Lindgren 1st 2019, Conditional 2nd 2018 (turns to a 5th if Galchenyuk scores more than 60 points) for Tavares, conditional 4th ( becomes a 3rd if Tavares scores less than 60 points)

1.) 09 Jul 2017 21:32:57
Tavares won't get traded.

2.) 09 Jul 2017 21:41:25
If their talking then it's not about Tavares, at least not yet. It's way too early, Islanders are still talking extension with Tavares and they traded for Eberle with the purpose of giving Tavares a scoring winger to help him.

As for the deal you proposed, I don't think that gets Tavares. Even as a rental, his cost will be the highest compared to other rentals traded at deadline.

Also not sure how high the Islanders are on Lindgren or Scherbak. Plus it all depends on what direction the Islanders want to go. If they want to go rebuild then they move Tavares for the largest amount of young players, prospects and high draft picks or they will keep Tavares and push for the playoffs.

It's not quite certain one way or the other. That's what I know.

3.) 09 Jul 2017 23:58:09
Then if Habs could resign Tavares, that would be pretty much 30 million for him, Price and Weber. I can't see it.

4.) 10 Jul 2017 01:55:56
I don't see it happening either but as for the money factor, most good teams are going to have near $30 mill in their top 3 players going forward. Just the way the money is being spent. If you're going to pay 3 players that kinda money I think the best goalie in the world, a horse of a #1 Dman and legit superstar centre is the way to do it.

5.) 10 Jul 2017 02:34:18
Hope it's DeHaan.

6.) 10 Jul 2017 16:52:58
I do agree with that Jim, my only problem is paying Weber that amount. he's already starting to slow. so in like 2 years, we are going to need another 7 to 9 million dman. hmm. we had one at the right age. If it was still PK., i'd be all over it.

7.) 10 Jul 2017 21:06:03
Don't worry Sosa habs are deep in defense prospects. a couple of those guys will make the team in a couple years. have faith man.

8.) 11 Jul 2017 00:27:16
Hab, who? After Juulsen. I don't really see any potential top 4 guys. we were OK with Sergachev. I obviously don't follow the prospects enough. But no one really stands out for me.

9.) 11 Jul 2017 00:55:29
i hope not galchenyuk will score 30 to 40 goal a year, if you could trade for a c1 or good centerman , again calling peter and saying trade plek for rnh, or I'll summit and offer sheet of 7.5-8 mill to daisaitl, your choice.

10.) 11 Jul 2017 01:57:32
Sosa we'll they do have a guy named victor mete who outplayed vancouvers 5th overall choice from last year. simon bourque Brett Lernout Arvid hendrikson nick koberstien plus the 4 defenseman they drafted this year just to name a few. probably no drew doughty in the bunch but I think it's safe to assume at least a couple of those guys will slot into the future top six. mete and juulsen both have potential to be top 4 IMO at this point I would say mete is probably slightly better.

11.) 12 Jul 2017 01:19:51
As I say with every Tavares proposal: they just traded for Eberle to give their franchise player a legit winger. They aren't trading Tavares anytime soon.

25 Jun 2017 19:05:53
Sign Galchenyuk to 5 year 5.5 mil per
Sign Radulov 5 year 6 mil per

MTL: Galchenyuk, Radulov, 2018 1st
NYI: Tarvares

Is that enough for Tarvares or what need to be added?

1.) 25 Jun 2017 20:38:01
Can't see why islanders would do that.

2.) 25 Jun 2017 20:54:00
I agree they can sign Radulov for free in like a week and they won't get Tavares for Galchenyuk a rn a 1st.

3.) 26 Jun 2017 09:01:21
Yeah so the Isles make all those moves for Tavares, just to trade him shortly after with the return being a UFA they could simply sign themselves.

24 Jan 2017 21:37:08
Montreal: Plekanec (Retain 15%) and 3rd
Carolina: Murphy and Bickell

Montreal: Emelin
Colorado: 3rd 2018 and 4th 2017

Montreal: 2nd (CHI) 2018 and DD (retain 50%)
Tampa Bay: Namestinkov

Pacioretty Danualt Radulov
Byron Galchenyuk Gallagher
Lehkonen Namestinkov Shaw
DLR Mitchell Flynn

Beaulieu Weber
Markov Petry
Patryen Murphy

1.) 24 Jan 2017 23:39:16
Montreal will never those returns for those players.

2.) 24 Jan 2017 23:43:20
Why would Colorado make that trade

3.) 25 Jan 2017 04:15:21
Big downgrade for Habs, GM says PFO

24 Jan 2017 10:15:02
Montreal: Gallagher

Tampa Bay: Fillpula, Namesterov

1.) 24 Jan 2017 13:36:59
No Thanx from mtl. Filpula is overpaid and to defensive. Pleky is already doing his job lol. If you change Filpula with Brayden Point the add a second one from mtl and you got a deal

2.) 24 Jan 2017 14:17:52
If we had to part with Gallagher, would rather see it as part of a package to aquire a good Dman. as MCJHabs said. we have Plekanec, who is like Filpula

3.) 24 Jan 2017 15:37:22
A rare no from the Canadiens

4.) 24 Jan 2017 18:17:47
Big no from the Canadians Filpula has nagitive value.

5.) 24 Jan 2017 19:15:35
Just a question Namestnikov or Nesterov?
Who ever no from Habs

6.) 25 Jan 2017 04:19:45
Tampas adds Drouin

19 Jan 2017 23:26:07
Desharnais (3rd line centre) added for cap reasons
McNiven (top OHL goalie)
2nd Rd 2017
2nd Rd 2018

Doan (Playoff help RW)
Hanzel (#2/ 3 big center to help Montreal defensively through their struggles rn)

Plekanec (Retain 25%)

1.) 19 Jan 2017 23:36:04
No from annahiem easily

2.) 19 Jan 2017 23:44:49
I like the Fowler one. however, Anaheim won't like it.
I don't like the Arizona one. Doan is going to be 41. And Hanzal is what the Habs are already full of. Guys that get injured and top out at about 35 points.

3.) 20 Jan 2017 01:05:02
I'm in love with the Anaheim one. If only Mtl could gets top 4 Defensemen for that price. Lol no way from Anaheim bud.

4.) 20 Jan 2017 03:10:24
Trade 1 is giving too much to Arizona.

Trade 2 doesn't give enough for Fowler.

Plec is now dust and a big cap hit, so basically Juulsen and a fringe player for Fowler. Jules projects well but will never have the offensive ability of Fowler.

5.) 20 Jan 2017 16:50:25
Personally, i like the trades, but just not doan. i would replace him with a 5th or something and instead, make a trade with vancouver for burrows for a 4th or 5th (that arizona gave) . He gives a lot of depth for the playoffs and is younger than doan. i'm pretty sure that he AT LEAST has 1 year of playoff experience

Montreals Forward lineup (X) = Open spot

Patches Galchenyuk Radulov
Shaw Plekanec Gallagher
(X) Desharnais Andrighetto
Byron Mitchell (X)

With Carr, Lehkonen, Reway, Hudon and possibly McCarron being NHL ready, Montreal needs to shed some players.

Trade Desharnais and 2nd 2017 to NJ for 3rd 2017.

Trade Andrighetto and Plekanec to NYI for
Ho-Sang and 4th 2017

New lines.

Patches Galchenyuk Gallagher
Lehkonen Hudon Radulov
Carr Reway Shaw
Byron Mitchell Matteau

DLR and McCarron can cycle through when someone gets hurt.

That would be 3 rookies in the top 9 forward group but I don't think maturity will be a problem and all 3 guys have been playing with veteran players for the past 2 years.

15 Jul 2016 02:24:48
Montreal: Plekanec Beaulieu 2nd 2018 Montreal

Colorado: Barrie

Montreal: Hudon Juulsen 1st 2017

Boston: Krejci

Patches Krejci Gallagher
Shaw Galchenyuk Radulov
Lehkonen DD McCarron
Byron Mitchell Matteau

Petry Weber
Barbario Barrie
Emelin Paytren.

1.) 15 Jul 2016 03:39:45
Sorry. but I wouldn't do either of those. I think Barrie is over rated. a lot .
Kejci has lost a step. no thanks.

2.) 15 Jul 2016 05:01:59
Habs add on both.

30 Jun 2016 00:35:03
If Montreal can dish off that terrible DD contract and get some offence in the system they could have a good playoff run.

Ladd or Eriksson could be a fit

Patches Galchenyuk Shaw
Ladd/ Eriksson Pleky Gallagher
Carr Hudon Andrighetto
Danult Matteau Byron

Beaulieu Weber
Markov Petry
Emelin Barbario.

23 Jul 2015 15:59:00
Take out the 2nd. Throw in another 1st ,Lehkonen, & Tinordi then maybe

1.) 24 Jul 2015 03:03:05
Add Price and maybe

Doubt Montreal trades there best defence prospect after getting rid of Sergachev not to metition getting rid of Beaulieu, emelin and markov.

As much as I would like Giroux on the habs, there is no way that Montreal would take his contract when we have to sign price within the year to a 9+ mill per year contract.

No from habs. Murray is young and has potential to be a top pairing dman but he has stood out enough for Montreal to trade a former 1st Rd pick, future 1st Rd pick and a 2nd.
