Detroit: Future Consideration
Every one knows Ottawa is in a cap crunch and needs to move salary to sign Pinto and its not going to be cheap. Ottawa is most likely going to have to pay more because of this. Philly wants Boucher to take Joseph contract and I don't think Ottawa wants to move any of their top prospects as they believe they are closer to being a playoff team so moving one of their two 1st this year makes sense. Detroit has a open roaster spot still, cap space and they get a second first back that they traded earlier to Ottawa in the Debrincat deal. Maybe Dorian can pull off a better deal or payless but right it seems more then not Ottawa will be paying more then they want .... or trade Pinto.

I don't see any open roster spots in Detroit. They already have 23 players with NHL experience under contract, and several good rookies that look NHL ready. What open spot do you see? I see 13 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 3 goalies on the team, and 2 more defensemen and another forward ready to step in.

I’d take a 1st over Boucher. He was a awful pick. IF he pans out he will be Garnet Hathaway type player.

I don't think i am undervaluing him at all, i think he is a good offensive defensemen, he can help this team! however with that being said he's in his mid 30's with an injury history and is a minus defensively. He is making 10 mil a year for the next couple of years. Yes Tarasenko could be tough to move but if they don't trade him they can buy him out at the end of the year. I hope the wings add him however i would be shocked if the wings gave up anywhere near what you purposed, at the most it would be a 2nd with a b prospect and the pens eating money. other then that i think the wings would pass. you can find other veteran d man that would be a plus that would cost alot less!

DrwDave. Im not against bring Karlsson in. but you don't need to send a 1st or Augustine to get him! this is not the Karlsson from 4 years ago, if he was the pens would be alot better! chances are you could get him for a 3rd and b prospect since the pens want to get ride of him. and if the wings are going to trade those assets to improve the team its not going to be 34 year old defenseman it would be for a young dman that would fit in with their young core.

I don't see the wings making this trade. Karlsson is terrible defensively and the pens are desperate to get rid of him and the wings aren't moving augustine or a first for an older player. if they move those assets it would be for a younger player that can be part of their core!

no chance either of these happen, Carolina is not making that deal for a young proven scorer for a guy who is getting benched and it makes no sense for new jersey to trade young controllable assets for a older players, especially with evans being a free agent and wants a big contract.

if the islanders trade these players they are probably going to want young players and draft capital in return, only player i think they would want in that deal is minton. Robertson has little value and domi and holmberg don't have much either. I think they would get a better offer from another team.
