heard a crazy idea that IF the murray samson oc experiment fails that scooby dubas would pivot to a trade for hellebuyck. i know this is a crazy crazy idea but just curious to know what the leafs would need to give up if it came down to this option? (btw i'm a jets fan)

The only way Chevy trades Helly is if Mikhail Berdin is NHL ready at a high #1 goalie level.
He would want a player that the Leafs wouldn't want to trade or retain $ on like Marner.
The Jets definitely wouldn't want or need soft, unmotivated Nylander or any combination of bottom level players or prospects.
The Leafs may not need a goalie if their 2 goalie signings pan out.

Yeah I guess Mathews wouldn’t be of interest to the jets. Marner probably wouldn’t crack the roster. That Nylander bum might crack the 4th line.

saw this on a rumour site and thought it was a decent proposal. islanders trade beauvellier to jets for dillon. islanders could use a veteran dman and jets need forwards seems like a win win.

I don't know if the Jets would be interested. Beauvillier has a pretty bad contract for a bottom six winger. If anything the Jets would likely move Dillon to gain cap space so probably for a pick.

I could also see the NYR having interest in Dillon too. I was listening to the SiriusXM NHL Channel yesterday and they were talking about the NYR need to get a veteran D too with Trouba being their elder statesmen on a promising young blue line.

The Jets don't need another prospect blocking bottom six player that has too rich a contract. So this trade would just hurt the Jets in the long run. The Jets have to dump Schmidt, Dillon and Demelo without taking back expensive players but this is easier said than done as most teams are in the same situation with players eating up cap space.

With the history of Winnipeg keeping 26% ($1.95m) of Laine’s salary, CBJ gets their 3rd round pick back and keeps $1mil of salary (that keep them cap compliant) . Effectively that would make it PLD for Laine and Savard for Roslovic.

I’ve heard word that Tampa may try moving Stamkos this off-season. IF Stammer can get his injury history behind him I think he’d be a perfect fit for the jets. I have 2 separate proposals that I think changes the jets roster for the better.

It was supposed to say 2020 1st. And triplets the odds are a lot higher that Stamkos gets shipped. Tbay is about to win the Stanley cup with Stamkos not playing a single shift. They have just over $5M in cap space for next year with lots of guys to resign and Steve’s injury history has been well known. Tyler Johnson isn’t the trade chip they will be able to move and I believe they want to keep cirelli and sergachev.

to be lucic and his contract kind of cancels out that likely low first round pick making this deal not as attractive. i understand that money needs to come out to fit pasternaks contract in. maybe there could be a way to add a third team in to take on lucic.
