What do you guys think about a deal based around
Edm: Nail Yakupov
NYI: Ryan Pulock
It doesn't solve Edmontons #1 dman issue, but adds a good young right shot dman with some size and offensive ability.
Yakupov could replace Okposo on the top line with Tavares if he goes to free agency. Maybe a change of scenery would get Yak going.
It's probably unlikely that NY would move Pulock if they are planning on moving Hamonic, but it's something I thought would be interesting.

Yak sucks. My two year old son would have Chemistry with McDavid! Lol Yak will go down as one of the worst first overall picks of all time, and Edmonton just needs to cut their losses with him. In my opinion. But maybe New York adds a little.

Absolutely not from New York. I understand Yakupov can become a good player but Pulock looks like a top 2-3 defender and the fact that they may have to trade Hamonic for a forward means they won't move Pulock.

I guess Ference is a well respected veteran presence, but hockey wise he wouldn't a big loss, so it might be worth it for the sake of shedding his salary.
I like the CHI trade. Chi gets some much needed cap space and a (future) replacement for Hjalmarsson, who's a guy that helps the Oilers more right now than Marincin.
Hard to say, I think Hjalmarsson is a solid guy, better right now, but Marincin might have the higher ceiling, so maybe make it a lower pick.

That's a pretty tight list!
Kinda personal preference, I real answer as the sample size is so small Cohabit doesn't have nearly as many NHL games as the rest of the list. So he maybe doesn't even belong in this just yet. Some play totally different styles too so it depends what you like or team needs.
I like Sergachev the best. Then basically a tie for the rest as I can't really pick one over another right now. Lol.

I find it funny when people use the term "leaf hater". Every team gets hate. The habs get just as much, if not more hate than the leafs do, yet you never hear the term "hab hater" or "oiler hater" "flames hater".
It's just leafs fans who throw out an unreal value for a player and when someone says they are worth less than proposed they respond the same way. Fighting to hold back their tears and responding with " No it's not true, you're just a leaf hater"
It's pathetic.
What's ironic is that the ones calling people "leaf haters" are usually the ones responsible for the hate that leafs players and fans get.

so, what's your point? every team that has fans in any sport has fans that are immature/ aren't overly invested in the league and gain somewhat of an emotional attachment to the players on the team they do follow. both are fine.
If you're trying propose that MTL/ EDM/ fans of other teams do not say absurd things, then you're greatly mistaken. As a secondary point, I'd like you to go through the page when you see this and count how many times you see the term "leaf hater" written.

I agree if the Oilers were able to get Hoffman for Bear and a 3rd they should take it, but Bear has improved a ton since being drafted. If they did a re draft now (early I know) I'm pretty sure he'd be a 2nd rounder at worst. He was the WHL dman of the year last year and a right shot PP quarterback is something the Oilers are really lacking right now. Hopefully he can fill that role in a couple years.

Yeah Matthews is pretty sick. Scoring 4 anytime is unreal let alone in your 1st NHL game. But wow are the Sens horrible defensively.
