Hmm. I guess to take brodie maybe a 3rd is fair for absolutely nothing in return . That leaves Korchinski which is absolutely untouchable. And 2 other nearly untouchable prospects. And for a guy that will prohibit futures. Basically terrible. Kunetzov retained from Washington is way better option. 2 years at say 6.5 instead of 8 years of 9.5.

Would a team give anything to take Brodies 5M? Wild don’t have the cap and I don’t think Brodie is a need for them.
Yeah you upgrade an 80 point guy to a 100 point guy but you trade away the future. Nylander would be a one year rental for them so I don’t know why he’d be in the trade.

Only way you may see Matthews in an Arizona jersey is if it's a sign and trade deal and it's done before July 1st or if he chooses to go there next year. Only reason Arizona does it is to improve revenue right away whether it be through corporate sponsors, ticket sales (all 5000 of em lol), and merch sales. They are running the risk of relocation, but adding the best player to come out of Arizona definitely helps their case. Brodie isn't worth a 2nd alone. Maybe at the deadline if his salary was much lower, but right now it would probably cost the Leafs to unload him.
