To pitt ...tj brodie and sam Bennett

To cal

Alex G, Nick Bjugstad, Rikola.

Pitt shores to D before playoffs and adds some bottom 6 grit.

Cal gets deeper and more versatile at forward and adds a younger D man.

Cap not far off.

Let's test the waters..

To Pitt

Sam Bennett and TJ Brodie

To Calgary

Nick Bjugstad
Jussa Rikola
Casey Desmith

Toss a late pick here and there if needed.

Lol. You’re a Pens fan aren’t you?

2.) 29 Nov 2019 22:21:30
Brodie is walking after this year for nothing . Bennett has value no doubt but how much?

Desmith is best goalie not playing in NHL and can step up to a #1 B spot. Rikola is a young d man with some potential. Only other penguin who is an option is Simon.

3.) 29 Nov 2019 23:42:33
Desmith best goalie not playing in the nhl? That's funny.

4.) 30 Nov 2019 04:27:16
Didn't desmith clear waivers not long ago?

5.) 30 Nov 2019 10:11:04
Who is better than desmith? Look how he carried the pens last year. The leafs would kill for a backup of this quality. A huge upgrade to Calgary or a lot of teams. Desmith is better cory S from devils who just cleared waivers too.

6.) 30 Nov 2019 19:28:36
Do I really have to list 20 goalies outside the nhl who are better then desmith? Wouldn't it just be easier for you to take off your pens goggles and see for yourself.

7.) 30 Nov 2019 21:53:27
When a goalie clears waivers is he still considered a legit NHL back up to you jerkbait? Become rn I would consider him an AHL goalie and not a big the big upgrade the leafs would be looking to give up assets for, I am surprised that nobody claimed him tho. but that's what happened.

8.) 30 Nov 2019 21:54:25
Flames* I don't know why I said leafs.

9.) 01 Dec 2019 11:59:11
Again in toronto media desmith is the trade target. He carried the pens last year when murray was down. NHL experience and huge upgrade over what they have. He didn't get claimed because his cap hit is higher than most would fork over for a backup goalie however leafs have no chocie.

To Pittsburgh

Tyson Barrie
3rd round pick ( 2021)

To Toronto

Casey Desmith.

With Shultz and letang both out pens get a puck mover and power play guy. Leafs get their 1B goalie. I think Barrie is a UFA so that might complicate things

Jerkbait

1.) 23 Nov 2019 15:42:06
Barrie is a UFA, yes. And Toronto won’t do this imo. You are giving up too much for backup goalie who is currently playing AHL.

2.) 23 Nov 2019 16:06:57
Barrie is not resigning with Toronto. He is going to walk for nothing or be a trade deadline asset. The leafs need goaltending help NOW. Desmith is more than a back up. Capable of playing 1b and winning games. Just look what he did in Pittsburgh last season. Major upgrade. Problem is there isn't much on Toronto that would interst Pitt. Maybe kapanen.

3.) 23 Nov 2019 20:09:49
I believe it’s been shown plenty of times Leafs will let there free agents walk.

4.) 23 Nov 2019 20:40:24
Or they can just give a 2nd round pick? Barrie can catch a 1st and a good prospect especially if Cody Franson can lol.

5.) 23 Nov 2019 21:21:31
Nobody going to give a 1rst tor barrie in this state and the leafs are not going to let him walk away because they really have little chance of making noise in the playoffs. He be gone before the deadline. Best case would be use that asset to get a capable goalie. Desmith is that guy. I doubt pitt can resign Barrie but he a rental for a playoff run.

6.) 23 Nov 2019 22:51:45
If the leafs have little chance of making noise in the playoffs, who cares about a back up goalie. Keep the 3rd round pick. One game doesn’t define Kaskisuo. Who knows if they even make the playoffs, but if they do there is enough talent to do something, with Barrie.

7.) 24 Nov 2019 00:49:06
Leafs don't get close to the playoffs without a capable second goalie. They have 0 wins front the backups. I don't think any other team can lay claim to zero wins from the second goalie. what would happen if Andersen got injured? The leafs don't need Barrie and he is leaving anyways and really the only peice that is going to get you a capable second goalie.

Matthews is better than former blue jacket. he is better now and will continue to get better . Best shot in hockey and his game is still getting better. Pretty much only a certain couple from Edmonton that I would even consider trading Matthew's for . or maybe crosby.

Brodie more complete D man than barrie . So much better in his own end. Reiley hurt and not playing for another month or two . Brodie creates more offence than muzzin but not as good in his own end. This trade would be a surefire win for the leafs.
