- I really like guys like Coleman for playoff additions, and I think a 2nd & 4th is fair value.
- the 2nd would have to be a 2025 2nd (FLA doesn't own their '24 2nd)
- the trade would need to be revised to send back a minor salary & roster player to CGY to help FLA remain cap & roster compliant.
- the only downside to Coleman is he's got 3 more seasons after this at 4.9M. As much as I like the player, FLA may prefer a player with less salary and term.

Why wouldn’t Coleman be able to fetch a 1st? Monahan got a 1st and a 3rd, is only 3 years younger, UFA and is pretty bad defensively.

Monahan

- 35pts in 53gp
compare their analytics, Coleman is the far more effective player so why wouldn’t he be able to fetch a 1st if someone like Laughton will most likely get one.

CASUAL: The big reason WPG needed Monahan is that they’re terrible with face offs.
I like Coleman, but at 32, and being signed for 3 more years at 4.9M, I don’t think that brings a 1st. If I’m FLA I’d rather find a cheaper version of Coleman on a shorter deal.

At first I thought Coleman as 4.9M at his age and term is a cap dump but had no clue how good of a season he’s having. Not sure what his value is but can’t really compare it to Monahan. Monahans cap made it really easy for any team to pick him up.

Granlund has a sneaky 30 points in 40 games and Boston needs help in the middle but won't be willing to give up a haul like VAN did for Lindholm.

Once again, a good target, but it puts BOS over the cap & roster limits. They'd need to send a contract back to make it work, and they may favor a depth C with a lower cap hit.

Calgary would flip Marner next year if he did not plan to resign. It's hard to say if Marner is untouchable or not but you'd think since Toronto has plenty of offence and Trevling did not draft Marner that there's a good chance he's not.

I don’t even like Marner I’d give him away for free but there is no chance in hell ownership would allow Marner to be traded even for a gross overpayment that makes them better.

- This too is a good trade idea, and frankly Treliving should have done a trade like this for Nylander rather than re-sign him and give him a NMC.
- the obvious hiccup with this trade is that Marner has a NMC, and would have to agree to waive it, which he's unlikely to do.
- leafs don't have a 2nd to offer, but they wouldn't have to to make this trade work.
- the leafs could make the roster limit work with sending someone to the minors.

I’m sorry but the bertuzzi isn’t a bad replacement for Guentzel take is blasphemous. bertuzzi has 21 points in 51 games vs 52 points in 50 games while being on a worse team. Only use I see bertuzzi in Pittsburg id hed win a lot of beauty pageants.
A 1st and knies or a top end prospect Cowan is the only one that comes to mind or pittsburg slams the phone.
