Ottawa Trades Josh Norris

Kings Trade Pierre-Luc Dubois

Both players have similar contracts and are locked in. I think both players are under performing and would do better in their new teams.

- interesting idea, since they both lack trade protection this season, and they have a lot of similarities.

- Dubois is just such an enigma though. Norris also has a higher upside with his 35G season.

- I wouldn’t want Dubois in my room, period. There’s something wrong with him. Who knows what motivates a guy like that beyond a contract year?

Gimme Norris any day over PLD. Not close in my opinion.

3.) 26 Jan 2024 13:00:00
Norris only has one decent season. The sens really haven't got much from Norris so far. I simply see Norris getting past 80 point season. so he's not a superstar. Dubois is currently in slump and might be the only time King consider trading him.

Couple things that would work for Dubois is that he grew up 2 hours away from Ottawa. Could have his friends and family attend games. Maybe that's the motivation he needs. He's had some good seasons and still has lots of potential. He's biggger than Norris, has more games played and more points.

I don't think either team is getting a bad deal. I just think Ottawa would be better with him. Neither team would regret the trade. Low risk trade. Worst case scenario both teams end up in similar situation, but at least they tried something.

Idk it just seems like a sideways move at this point. Like Chickenfoot said there seems to be something going on with PLD. He's on his third team at only 25. Whether it be he thinks he deserves to be a 1st line player or something else idk.

ANA trades Trevor Zegras

OTT trades Josh Norris

Ottawa creates a little cap space and keep Pinto in the process. Zegras doesn't seem happy with contract talk in Anaheim. Lots of upside to his game. think both teams get what they need.

Value would be not far off but Norris barely played last year due to injuries. He’s a risk for now, especially at his cap hit

2.) 23 Sep 2023 17:01:55
Ottawa says no.

3.) 23 Sep 2023 17:52:18
Anahiem doesn’t touch this. Norris injury is just way to concerning.

Matt Duchene got bought out. Unknown why. Obviously baring injuries or unknown factors that would prevent playing. Sens should re-acquire him. He had his best years statistically in Ottawa. This would fill Debrincat's spot as he seems to have one foot out the door. This would then give the option to trade Debrincat for another piece of the puzzle. Could still get 4 years out of Duchene.

Debrincat for a goalie or power forward.

If Sens can't resign Debrincat long term. Thoughts on trading him for a goalie with career solid numbers. Apparently doesn't want to resign with his team if they enter a rebuild. Both players are under team control for the next season.

Ottawa trades Debrincat

Winnipeg Trades Hellebuyck

Not sure if that's a straight up trade for value or would need some draft picks either way...But saw a post saying Hellebuyck isn't interested in staying with Jets if they start a rebuild. Ottawa hasn't been able to sign Debrincat thus far and the clock is ticking. Ottawa is entering perenial playoffs contention. Sens don't have a number 1 to pair with Forsberg. We have good goalies coming up, but not ready yet. Hellebuyck is 29 so still many years left. If we can't sign Debrincat, I'd like to see more than draft picks coming back.

Winnipeg doesn't go for that in my opinion, creates a massive hole for them. Also Helly has more trade value, I could see Ottawa taking a look at John Gibson in Ana.

2.) 30 Apr 2023 02:44:04
As nice as Debrincat would be, if he isn't signing in Ottawa he won't sign in Winnipeg.

If the Jets trade Helle they would probably want picks and entry level contracts.

3.) 30 Apr 2023 23:47:42
I really don't understand why Goalies aren't considerably worth more, especially the upper echelon ones like Hellebyuck.

4.) 01 May 2023 00:35:44
Get real NotACasual, you have that completely backwards. Winnipeg would most definitely need to add a lot. DeBrincat carries far more value than Hellebyuck does for plenty of reasons. Goalies are far easier to find than proven 40 goal scorers and are far bigger risks to trade for as they may be great on 1 team and terrible on another. You need to stop passing on sens players trade values.

5.) 01 May 2023 00:43:48
Sosahabs goalies should never be worth more than any other position. They are a dime a dozen. There are plenty goalies more than good enough to go pro and never do for simple fact there's not enough teams to facilitate them.

6.) 01 May 2023 13:51:55
This is pretty close I would think. give or take a few picks maybe.

@mybad2

Goalies aren't not a dime per dozen, there are only 32 starting position.

Secondly, your clearly a sens fan who acts like a leafs fan by over valuing the team you cheer for. I don't think you would get much done if you were the sens GM.

7.) 01 May 2023 16:10:11
Goalies don't hold the value that other positions do simply because their job is as straight forward as it gets. stop the puck. Players can be in a slump offensively, but playing lights out defensively so they are making up for it. Helly is a top goalie though with a proven track record of being a very solid goalie for the Jets. DeBrincat is a great player and has age on his side. Don't see the trade happening though.

8.) 02 May 2023 02:02:19
I agree that Debrincat probably wouldn't sign with the Jets if he's not interested in the Sens. However, Pierre Dorion is the king of 3 team deals, so maybe Helle goes to Ottawa and a 3rd team that suits Debrincat and is set in nets would be willing to give draft picks back to Winnipeg? I'm sure there's a few teams out there that could fit that bill.

9.) 02 May 2023 03:56:34
@MG69

Lower end goalies are a dime a dozen. but top 10, like Hellebuyck. (arguably top 5) goalies aren't. Goalies are able to steal games for you. and if they are dialed in during playoffs. definitely not a dime per dozen.

Possibly more on a 3 way trade with Winnipeg.

Detroit receives and signs DeBrincat.

Sens Receive and sign Hellebyuck

Winnipeg receives Detroit's #9 pick 2023 + a 2nd and 3rd.
