CBJ should offer sheet Gustavsson. 7 years 7.5 million. Minnesota doesn't have the cap space to match it. CBJ would have to move a small contract to make the cap work but would be a huge upgrade in goal

Gustavsson and Swayman are going to likely require the same draft pick compensation going to either Minnesota or Boston so you wouldn't be able to get both of them.

Compensation for Gustavsson at that cap hit is next year's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks. Only way you get Swayman would be at $1,415,740 which wouldn't require any compensation. You offer him that he's not signing the offer sheet lol. And if he did for some reason Boston matches. Your other option is to grossly overpay Gustavsson at $10,725,315 which would require the next four years of 1st round picks. And then offer Swayman either $1,415,741-$2,145,061 which is next year's 3rd round pick or $2,145,062-$4,290,125 which is next year's 2nd round pick.

I guess it depends on who Anaheim wants to draft. I think the consensus #2 pick is Fantilli. But let’s say Anaheim would prefer to pick someone else. In a deep draft, if they don’t want Fantilli, I definitely think this is something they would at least consider.
However, if they want Fantilli, they are picking #2.

I’m a CBJ fan but I can’t stand some of these trades that are so lopsided one way. I thought that was at least a fair trade.

Fantilli is too good to pass up on imo Anaheim probably doesn’t trade down.

If ANA trades down at all they won't be adding anything to the pick. But Fantilli is more than likely going to be a Duck. Exciting young team they are building over there.

I desperately want Fantilli to be a Blue Jacket. Unless the price is just unreasonable Jarmo should be on the phone with the Ducks. I'd even go as far as #3,34,66 to the Ducks for #2. I think he's going to be that good, however, that's why the Ducks will probably take him. They already have 2 really young centers though

With PLD,Hellebuk, Scheifele, and Wheeler all leaving Winnipeg should just go for a full on rebuild. They could get a lot of good young pieces for those players
