Canuck's trade: Beauvillier, Truscott, 2nd round pick 2024
Jackets trade: Peeke
Columbus has young D coming up and need to make room for them. They get a decent winger while canucks get a shut down D.

Canucks decline. Joseph had a really weak season and Beauvillier seems to have found back his game in Vancouver. I don't see how this trade benefits them, as a 3rd is not enough to cover the hole left by Beauvillier's departure

After trading away a 2nd,3rd,4th and 7th just to get rid of murray and zaitsev, I think it would be wise of dorion to stop trading away picks at this point and maybe reassess where his team is really at.

I’m guessing PHI wants more for Hart, and I’m fine if they get it elsewhere too since I’m not sold on the kid.
Finishing near the bottom is painful, and drafting high is the only tonic for that, so I’m not big on trading down either.
As for Michkov, whoever picks him has some stones, because Russia and Russians are a huge risk right now.

I’m down-voting myself…I misread the proposal, and it’s WAY too much for Hart.
Young players and prospects are as much a numbers game as anything, so package deals have to be offered by teams in a different situation than MTL. You need lots of picks and prospects to be able to come up with the few that will rise above all others to become key pieces on a competitor.
Habs were wise to avoid Dubois, and while Hart may reach his lofty potential, I’d bet against it.

I would have taken the risk on Michkov, but apparently he didn't want to play in MTL.

Dumba had 12 goals in 32 games before he got injured last year. He’s physical too. Might be a bit much maybe take out the picks. Vancouver needs a right shot D and if they’re trying to be good now I think it’s a good decision. Definitely not a 25 point guy.
