Mtl: Gallagher

Edm: Nurse

Mtl gets much needed defensive help while Edm gets one of the best contract in the nhl in the energetic Gally and Hope's that this guy will completely change the dynamic up front. Plus Gallagher is on his way for another 30 goal season.

It's a straight up deal mtl gets a younger solid defensemen but Edm is not getting too old because Gallagher is just 26 and cmg off a really good season and has 11 goals this season already

Value wise not far off, just don’t think oilers would be willing to trade away a top 4 defence for another gritty forward. They have grinder type players and are looking to add a top 4 d man not trade one for something they don’t need.

Montreal absolutely does not need another defenseman. Weber comes back soon and they have to try to fit him already. How would they fit Nurse too?

I agree with Mertle, The value is there and it's a good trade. I would love to add Galagher but that creates too big a hole on a D that I don't think Is very smart at the moment. The top three of Klef Larsson nurse is okay, but after that there's a bit of a drop especially with Sekera out.

Subtracting Nurse right now wouldn't be very smart.
Unless there is another separate deal you can think of to add another D at the same time as this deal?
Klef - Lars. Nurse - Bouchard. In a year or two will be good. If they took nurse out now that's a big hole.
Want Sekera or Russel for your left side?! I'll add a 1st to Sekera for Gally. 😜😜 Ha ha. Him and Weber will carry you to glory!

LeafsGM. Montreal is actually rumored to be looking for a D. Preferably a left shot to play with Weber.
They don't like playing all Jordie Benn, Schlemko, Alzner, and Kulak. Those guys are all third pairing guys at best. Right now all four are in the lineup. Will be nice for them to get Weber back and maybe bring in someone new, an upgrade to those four mentioned.
That's just what I've read.
