Yak to Colorado Avalanche at $875k for a 1 year deal. I knew someone was going to get him under 1M, just didn't know who.

I agree, give him a chance on a line with Chucky and see if they can reconnect.

Wouldnt have hurt at that price to give him a shot.

If they give him playing time with Mack duchene and landeskog and he still doesn't produce then we will know for sure he's a bust.

I would've definitely given him a shot especially if I was Bergevin. But no sense in signing him unless you have him playing with talent IMO.

He was a bust a long time ago.

Yak was a stud in sarnia; used to watch him all the time against the spits. Don't know why he is struggling still to make the leap to the nhl.

Some guys games just don't translate. Lots of first rounders never play or barely make an impact in the NHL and very little is made from it outside their own organization. He just happened to be a first overall in a weaker class and therefore has been under a microscope his entire career. Not his fault they picked him first. I think any hope of him being a star is gone but he seems like a decent kid, hopefully he can make the most of this opportunity and at least have some success.

Giller- Hockey IQ is not at the NHL level. That's why he is a bust and always will be number 1 Picks are expected to be the face of a franchise. he could excel on a line with two gifted playmaker to set him up for his "elite" 1 timer. He's never going to be able to carry a line like he was expected to do. He is a supporting player with some elite skills.
