To Tampa - Gardiner, Kadri & 2 prospect (maybe Gauthier & Finn) & 1st round pick

To Toronto - Stamkos

The Salaries line up and the compensation is good for Tampa, so why not? It's time to add BIG TIME! This would solidify some consistency in the offense for TOR as well.

Now tell me how you hate it!

Stamkos is worth more, he is a franchise player. Just like we hope McDavid and Eichel will be.

And it has no point for Toronto giving up a top 4 defenseman, 2nd line center, 1 top 10 round draft choice, and a 2nd round player that can/very close to making the roster.

And, be prepared Draisiatl_94 is coming to town :P

Change those two prospects to Nylander and Reilly. I mean c'mon, I've said it before, Gardiner is not that good so his trade value is not as high as all you leaf fans put him as. Stamkos is a legit superstar, you won't get him for An average defenseman, undeveloped 2n line center, and 2 decent prospects. That first would not make up the difference either.

Big no from Tampa, as most people have stated simply not enough. You cannot get a superstar player for nothing, and Kadri and Gardiner are nowhere close. You're talking about a center with a ceiling as a 2nd line center (behind Johnson and Filpulla on Tampa even after Stamkos is traded, and possibly even Namestnikov before too long, so really has no place to play), a, at best, 2nd pairing defensively inept powerplay quarterback, a first, and 2 random but not great prospects? You probably wouldn't take that for Kessel why whould Tampa take it for Stamkos? Not to mention Tampa is in a win now mode.

Stamkos's future in TB is unknowen.

No one knows if he is going to resign with tampa or leave for FA (possibly to play in his hometown of Toronto, Possibly not) No one knows.

This trade would work next year if Tampa cannot resign him. Wayy to early for them to deal him now though. They might make a cup run this year.

@stickboi: Even IF he does not want to resign - which I don't think, because I don't think there are even 3 teams more promising to win in the next 5 years (and TOR definitly isn't one of them) - and TB would decide to trade him. 28 teams would offer sth way, way better. WAY better.
