I see PHI or ANA as two places that have assets Tampa would want and would make the most sense.

PHI: Drouin
TBL: Sanheim and 2016 2nd
-Philly has tons of young D in Provorov, Ghost, Morin, etc, one could be expendable to help their forward group.

ANA: Drouin
TBL: Theodore and 2016 2nd
-Again Anaheim has a lot of good young D like Lindholm, Fowler and Vatanen, and could use Someone like Drouin.

And now just because everyone else did it, send Drouin to my favourite team! :p

SJS: Drouin
TBL: Mueller, Goldobin and 2017 3rd
-This one is the least likely, just hope the value is fair!

1.) 03 Jan 2016 23:22:03
I was actually thinking of the Sanheim one, could be a good destination for him especially with the flyers struggling to score.

2.) 03 Jan 2016 23:40:52
replace sanheim with ghost.

3.) 04 Jan 2016 04:26:09
@jamesvanhockey Flyers don't want to give up gohst he's the reason why gagner was put on waivers so sanhime is fine in ther.

4.) 05 Jan 2016 17:45:29
Sachem has a higher upside than Ghost in the future. so how about Hagg, Cousins and that 2nd 2016.

29 Nov 2015 00:07:10
PHI: Wingels/Nieto, Stalock, 2nd 2017

SJS: L. Schenn, Neuvirth

Fair? Sharks need a bottom pairing defenseman and apparently they are interested in Luke Schenn. Also get a better backup goalie for Jones. Philly adds depth at forward, backup goalie and a pick next year. (The 2nd would be 2016 but the Sharks don't have a 1st or 3rd this year, so I don't think they want to get rid of their only pick in the first 3 rounds)

1.) 29 Nov 2015 13:54:57
Neuvritn is playing well but way 2 much coming from SJ L. Schenn is Garbage, no offense to him.

2.) 29 Nov 2015 22:04:26
Phi signed neuvirth so they can have a reliable backup for Mason. I doubt they trade a goalie that plays like a starter for a backup. no from phi

17 Oct 2015 15:46:05
Thanks for Martin Jones LA. The Sharks have played a total of 245 minutes of hockey, and Jones had a shutout streak for 234:33 of that time. He is tied for the league lead in shutouts and wins, and he's 2nd in Save percentage and GAA only behind Berra who only has 1 win (which was a shutout) . I know it's a small sample size but us sharks fans already view Jones as a god.

1.) 17 Oct 2015 17:10:13
I knew we shouldn't have traded Jonesy.

2.) 17 Oct 2015 18:26:09
but you have quick, there isn't any way he could have succeded in such a small role.

3.) 17 Oct 2015 18:27:33
you do realise we're about a week into the season, right?

Little early to call him some kind of god, don't you think?

4.) 17 Oct 2015 20:20:50
Yeah I said that above its a small sample size. But the Sharks have never had above average goaltending and Jones just gets us shark fans excited. And calling him a god was just my way of letting my excitement out.

5.) 17 Oct 2015 20:33:42
Wanted Edmonton to go after him but definitely can't complain with how Talbot has been playing.

6.) 17 Oct 2015 22:07:21
I agree. Oilers are without a win so far but goaltending has actually looked good so far. Both Talbot and Nilsson have done a pretty solid job so far. It's oddly goal-scoring that the Oilers are struggling with so far. Defense still needs upgrading as well but making due with what they've got hasn't been a train wreck. McL is turning things around. going to be slow-going, but you can see it happening already.

7.) 18 Oct 2015 00:07:22
@Prodepth, yes you did say it was a small sample size, and that's exactly why its way too early to start evakuating anything too much.

also, idk how old you are/how long you've been a fan, but nabokov was very good for the better part of the 2000's for SJ. aside froma a couple off seasons, he was consistently over a .910 sv % and a sub 2.30 gaa. what i'm getting at is that you have had very good goaltending for an extended period, even niemi in recent years would be hard to classify as below average.

8.) 18 Oct 2015 02:07:47
The real Oiler fans know when to blame our losses on goaltending and yeah I agree these losses are definitely not on them. They've always had a history of things just not going there way and losing one goal games but IMO there just not working hard enough and there PP is terrible right now. Kinda wish we coulda kept Neilson around as an assistant coach.

9.) 18 Oct 2015 05:24:24
Ya Niemi was good in 2011, 2013 and 2014.

12 Oct 2015 00:00:02
My 2016 season predictions (should've posted before th season started but I'mma go anyway)
* (wildcard)
Tampa Bay

New York Rangers
New York Islanders
New Jersey

St. Louis

San Jose
Los Angeles

Central was hard, I could see anyone of Chicago, St. Louis, Minnesota or Nashville pushing for the division title.

1.) 12 Oct 2015 01:41:15
Where's Ottawa? You only have 2 (Tampa, Mon) in the Atlantic. Ottawa the third?

2.) 12 Oct 2015 02:45:24
Oh haha my bad but I can see 3rd or 4th in their division.

3.) 13 Oct 2015 03:25:58
Buffalo will finish ahead of Boston

05 Oct 2015 21:34:48
Raffi Torres suspended for 41 games! I didn't think that hit was bad enough to suspend him for half the season without pay

In other Sharks news, Pavelski the captain and Couture and Thornton the As.

1.) 05 Oct 2015 22:45:29
Still can't believe 41 games, he's not even a repeat offender.

Good for Pavelski. Would of liked to see burns / Vlasic and couture with As

2.) 06 Oct 2015 00:15:59
BJ what are you talking about
Has 4 prior and one was a 21-gamer

3.) 06 Oct 2015 01:50:58
Torres punishment was a bit tough, but somewhat warranted. By the rule he's not a repeat offender, butt let's be real, I think it's safe to say he is the definition of a repeat offender, or what a repeat defender should be defined as if you want to look at it in that light.

4.) 06 Oct 2015 01:58:29
He's not a repeat offender? At first glance it looked like a shoulder to shoulder hit but slow motion you can see he tagged him in the head. Regardless he didn't need to run him like that, he's definitely been warned about crap like that. I don't know about 41 games but a lengthy suspension might smarten him up or possibly end his career.

5.) 06 Oct 2015 18:13:15
Technically he is not a repeat offender, but I think they took in to account he barely played last year and the fact he has 4 other suspensions. According to the discipline committee a player who goes 18 months with out a suspension from their previous one is considered to not be a repeat offender. Personally think the Sharks are better off without him anyways.

6.) 06 Oct 2015 18:22:35
Idk because he holds a roster spot. So the Sharks are forced to have only a 22 man roster until he returns. They can't remove him from the roster or his suspension doesn't "tick". And lmao he tried so hard to play again after playing only 5 games since 2013 and he ended up getting suspended.

7.) 06 Oct 2015 19:33:42
He hasn't been suspended before this for 18months meaning he's not a repeat offender. Guess they made a new rule giving his history. Pretty much what I'm trying to say is what Shankar said above.

Which division looks like it will be the most competitive this year?

The pacific division has everyone trying to compete expect for Arizona. Every team in the central has potential to make the playoffs/win the cup. Metropolitan has the majority improves Caps, Pens, isles, and the former presidents trophy winners. The Atlantic division also has some powerhouses ready to compete like Montreal, Tampa and Detroit.
Which do you think?

1.) 04 Jul 2015 16:25:48
Pacific , Central, Metro, Atlantic

I could see every team in the west(except Arizona) being in the playoffs. Going to be lots of good teams not playing come playoff time.

20 Feb 2015 16:17:46
Do you guys think their could be a Kuemper - Niemi trade. With Dubnyk dominating I think Kuemper could be dealt. But since the wild already had a backup with Backstrom maybe it's for a sharks player instead?

1.) Yeah minny would want a prospect a pick or a young player in return

2.) I'm not sure of Kuempers value but maybe Gabryel Boudreau and a 2nd?

29 Jan 2015 22:32:27
Winnipeg has rookie goalie Hutchinson and up and coming prospect Eric Comrie? You think one would be moved?

If the Oilers get a top two pick this year and draft McDavid or Eichel what could happen with other potential star Centers Nuget-Hopkins and Draisatl? Would one of them be moved for a top 2 defender?

Which one of these Western teams will not make the playoffs? LA, SJS, VAN, CGY, WPG?

Just making some discussion

1.) Peg is bubble playoffs team right now, no way would they move a goalie. They need security should something happen to Pavalec/Hutchinson. If anything, they pick up a vet backup and bump Hutchinson down for security.

Oilers draft Mcdavid or Eichel and immediately trade RNH or Draisaitl? Really? because too many centers is a horrible thing, right? C'mon. No chance. Not for at least a couple/few years.

No clue on the other question.

2.) Peg will move Pavelec before they move Hutch of Comrie

two problems from the Edmonton perspective. 1) top 2 d-men aren't easily had, even if you're giving up an RNH. 2) Even if they draft top 2 and make a trade, they are still going to struggle. So does it make more sense to stay the path and develop the guys they have? Like anything, I think it depends heavily on what that trade looks like.

All three Canadian teams might be out of it (likely CGY and WPG). LA and SJS will come back around.

3.) Winnipeg has a veteran back up in Peter Budaj who's playing in the minors right now. I just don't really know what Winnipeg needs to improve. IMO they just need to get Kane focused in and on track to make that step to their first playoff birth.

4.) The Winnipeg idea was meant to e thought of in a few years would they keep 2 starters?
Edmonton I thought maybe trade a young center for a solid defensive prospect or a young goalie since they have so many young forwards.
And I personally think it will be Calgary.

5.) Right, well it's going to depend heavily on how well they are doing at that point.

18 Jan 2015 13:45:16
After watching the sharks play the flames our teams weaknesses were shown. San Jose has great offense and are good in their own end, but what we lack is a more stable net minder, and more offensive production from our back end. Niemi just falters in high pressure situations; OT, allowed a SHG lastnight, shootout, etc. this being said does anyone know a good OFD or goalie on the market and ther price?

1.) 18 Jan 2015 19:04:49
franson, yandle, mike green maybe area few D I can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure there's more as well.

as for the goalie, I don't really think there are any tat are better than niemi available, just players like scrivens, etc.

2.) Ok thanks and don't get me wrong Niemi is good but most shark fans don't like him

3.) 20 Jan 2015 01:59:09
Right when the Sens putted Anderson on their trade block, SJ was the first team to show interest. Idk what could be the package but they could put in Wiercoch that is a 6"5' OFD. But what could they get in return?

4.) Braun injured for a so we could use someone in our top-4. And what would you want in return?

5.) 20 Jan 2015 22:26:34
I don't think Bryan Murray would want another bunch of forwards like he got for Spezza, but maybe something like:

Ott: Nieto, Braun/Dillon,Stalock, cond. 2nd (1rst rd pick if the Sharks ends up in the 2nd or 3rd playoff round)

SJ: Anderson and Wiercioch

Correct me if I'm wrong but Anderson has a pretty good contract for his stats 4yrs/4.5 mill. This trade is similar to the Miller one last year. I don't know about the trade, but I'm pretty sure he'll end up in the West conference.

06 Jan 2015 01:04:13
Favourite team? I'm curious about the fan bases on here. Mines the Sharks.

1.) Toronto but I think everyone probably could have guessed that.

2.) I don't have one favourite (maybe bc I don't live in NA). Washington, Winnipeg and Detroit.

3.) Do you follow any of the European leagues over there?

4.) The swiss league a little bit. But Hockey in Europe is by far not that interesting than the NHL.

5.) Yeah agreed

6.) Always funny to see when ex NHL players come to Switzerland like Lombardi, Almond, Pyatt, Mueller etc. and everyone thinks/writes about them like they have been NHL-Stars.

7.) 06 Jan 2015 19:10:40
Haha benn so true. Same here in germany with guys like Festerling, Smaby, Caron, Mathieu Roy, Woywitka, Wyman, Reinprecht and Ryan Jones.

8.) Reinprecht is still playing hockey?

9.) Yeah location does not affect favourite teams to me. I'm from Ontario cheering on a Cali team.

10.) Oilers. I'm from Edmonton so I kinda have to like them

11.) 07 Jan 2015 09:24:43
Lol ya Steven Reinprecht is currently playing for the N├╝rnberg Ice Tigers. 38yo

Columbus has no reason to trade any young defenseman. They'll have one of the best blue lines in a couple years. Werenski, Jones, and Murray is a very good core.

Sharks have nooooo need for Ian Cole, and I'd rather have Marleau then Kunitz.

Sharks are trying to win before the Thornton/ Marleau era ends. This overall makes the team worse (since the D is very bad without Vlasic; see 2014 playoffs Games 5-7)

No from sharks. Already boast some of the best forward depth in the league, no need to get rid of young players atm. Only position of need for sharks is a backup.

Thanks for liking my proposal. Mueller, Nieto, Wingels and 2016 first for Kessel. Some of the trades are brutal, like the Strome, Dal Colle and Reinhart from the islanders or Forsberg jones +. etc. Kessels value is seen different out of Tornto then in it. His value to the maple leafs is very high, which is why he won't be dealt. The city of Toronto wants way more then anyone else wants to give. Most teams would offer a good prospect, young player and a 1st or 2nd depending on the other 2 players but Toronto expects a world class prospect, high pick and a decent or good player. I've also noticed that Toronto fans just want loads of 1st round picks. 1st round picks will Definately help your rebuild but you need to be able to draft in the lower rounds to maintain a good organization. Look at Edmonton, 3 straight 1st overalls and they're still in the bottom, because they can't draft depth. Now look at Detroit, or Tampa. they draft extremely well, which is how they got to where they are. And this is my opinion on Toronto's current state.

I don't think vasilevski would go top 3 because he hasn't proven himself as much as the others. A year ago I would've said Hertl top 3 but he's been a 3rd liner this season. Galchenyuk, Forsberg, Reilly, vasilevski, Hertl and trouba as the top 5 though IMO
