to Ottawa: Sergachev, Cirelli, Raddysh, 1st (TBL)

to Tampa: Karlsson (signed for 8 years/88 million)

to New Jersey: Coburn, Johnson, Högberg, 3rd (OTT), 2nd (TBL)

benn14

1.) 18 Jul 2018 13:20:09
Wait Jersey gives nothing and gets a second third and Johnson? The third is enough for one year of Coburn lol.

2.) 18 Jul 2018 13:37:19
Well, you're right lol. Maybe switch Johnson with Callahan? Or would Jersey need to get more if they take on Callahan?

3.) 18 Jul 2018 14:16:41
Wow. This might be one of the worst Karlsson proposals yet.
Sergachev, Carelli, Raddysh, 1st, 2nd, Coburn, Johnson

For Karlsson?

Do You actually think yzerman is an idiot?

4.) 18 Jul 2018 14:38:19
1. it's for Karlsson and to get rid of salary
2. why should Ottawa take less?
3. after rethinking my proposal, adding Johnson is too much. you could also take Cirelli/ Raddysh out of the deal or the 1st from Tampa.
4. No I actually don't think Stevie is an idiot.

5.) 18 Jul 2018 16:04:28
In my opinion its a bit too much (mainly with what Jersey is getting) and Coburn is all the salary they need to dump this year. Could send Coburn somewhere and then worry about next years cap issues later with Johnson Killorn Callahan all options to move. I also feel Karlsson extension in Tampa may be under 11 but wouldn't be by much and i wouldn't be surprised by 11.

6.) 18 Jul 2018 16:59:25
I still don’t know why New Jersey is involved in this lol.

7.) 20 Jul 2018 14:40:28
I actually don't mind this 1 at all. finally found someone on here outside myself and 2 others who no longer post because of the foolish posts and responses you see, who has a decent sense of trade value.

PIT: Faksa
DAL: Hornqvist

New 3C for PIT. Needed Winger for DAL. got to balance it out with picks or other players.

benn14

1.) 10 Jul 2017 20:37:30
Unlikely since Faksa got extended an hour ago, but original though wasnt bad.

2.) 10 Jul 2017 21:01:13
No from Dallas IMO. Cheaper, younger, potentially similar production and I think Faksa played some wing last year.

3.) 12 Jul 2017 01:24:43
And DAL, having just lost Eakin (and now Faksa from this proposal), what do they think about this?

07 Jul 2017 07:57:48
COL: G. Carlsson, S. Milano, Dubois
CBJ: M. Duchene

I'd do it if I'm Jarmo K.

benn14

1.) 07 Jul 2017 12:38:12
Good thing you're not. Duchene isn't that good that's aweful for Columbus.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 13:41:56
so you know all three going to be good nhlers? in what? 2-3 years? how about trying to win now and not in the future?

3.) 07 Jul 2017 15:55:54
Lol. CLB says no. Easily. This is bad.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 17:20:36
Take one prospect out and it should be close.

5.) 08 Jul 2017 00:12:08
I just don't see Duchene as someone to give up 3 blue chippers for. He has struggled recently 5 on 5. that's also not the type of package Sakic has made it clear he's looking for.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 15:19:39
No way Dubois is a star. I wouldn't trade him.

7.) 08 Jul 2017 15:20:22
Take out Milano he dosent carry much value anyway. Don't think it's to bad.

8.) 08 Jul 2017 19:21:24
I can't see jackets trading PLD along with both Carlson and Milano.

9.) 13 Jul 2017 18:19:44
Milano isn't worth anything. He's not going to make NHL. However, I don't see Columbus wanting to trade Dubois.

CAR: J. van Riemsdyk
TOR: B. Pesce.

benn14

1.) 06 Jul 2017 15:37:33
No from Carolina unless JVR was pre extended.

2.) 06 jul 2017 17:13:48
omg benn is back.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 08:30:10
If they had an agreement on a new deal in place I think it might be fair. what would JVR want for his next contract? 5-6 years at 6 mil?

4.) 07 Jul 2017 08:30:36
not sure canes would take him if that's the contract he demands.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 10:42:01
I'm pretty sure his initial ask will be higher. Would expect him to ask 7*7 for the beginning.

6.) 07 Jul 2017 12:25:31
Yep I'm sure he would.

7.) 07 Jul 2017 14:51:45
The Canes are very high on Pesce so no from them.

8.) 07 Jul 2017 15:27:55
Gotta give to get. i'd rather Keep Faulk over Pesce and McKeown won't get it done I'd say.

9.) 08 Jul 2017 15:16:17
Not bad, but omg actually agree with VB here. Would need an extension, Pesce has more value then 1 year of JVR.

Should the Leafs also fire Nonis now?

benn14

1.) Not right now, but eventually. As has been pointed out numerous times, the Leafs as an organization have always had this upside down way of doing things. The team needs some restructuring, so they fire half the executive, but keep the GM who didn't hire the coach and a coach who didn't hire his assistance, then hire a new president, who didn't hire his GM and most of this staff (which has since changed a bit).

This is MLSE's opportunity under Shanahan to get the hierarchy right, with Shanny hiring his own Exec and GM, who then hires his own coach, who in turn hires his own assistance.

Some questions:

-Can the Nucks and Flames keep this pace?
-Can CBJ/COL/DAL turn around and repeat last seasons results?

-Do you think the Leafs make the PO?

benn14

1.) The Nucks yes. Calgary is going to come back down to earth a bit.

Dal will be a playoff team. CBJ and COL are question marks for me. COL has the talent but the averages are starting to catch up with them. I like their shot at a wild card spot. CBJ has injury concerns and in certain ways overachieved last year. So it could go either way IMO.

TOR (like last year) is a bubble team. If they can find some semblance of consistency in their game they could take 2nd/3rd place in their division. But that's not their MO. As such they will be battling for a wild card spot. In or out is about 55/45 for me at this point.

2.) Canucks are proving they're a contender (or at least a playoff team) again. I think Calgary will be a wild card team (same with the Jets).

I don't think Colorado or Columbus will make the playoffs unless they turn things around soon, but Dallas will most likely repeat, hopefully going further in the playoffs than they did last year.

I'm with THEGR81 on the Leafs.

3.) Nucks will do the playoffs, flames will be good but not enough to the playoffs. Col won't make the playoffs and CBJ and DAL will be bubble teams so its 50/50.

For toronto, they get a legit shot at a wild card spot but they won't be able to have more points than Tampa, Montreal or Boston.

benn14

1.) 30 Oct 2014 19:51:19
No way BOS drops that far.
And NSH won't be that high and in front of all those other teams.
Calgary won't play that good all season, I say they'll have a top 3-5 pick.

2.) That seems close according to the begin of the season but I can't see Nashville finishing that high or Columbus finishing that low.

3.) Nashville will surprise.

4.) Atlantic: 1. TBL 2. MTL 3. OTT 4. DET 5. BOS 6. TOR 7. BUF 8. FLA

What do you guys think of the swiss players in the league?

Josi, Sbisa, Streit, Y. Weber, Brunner, Bärtschi, Hiller, Berra, Diaz, Niederreiter

benn14

1.) Mostly average players at best.

2.) Josi and Hiller are doing really well this year. Sbisa, Streit, Weber, Brunner, Berra, and Niederreiter, they're all okay. Don't know about Diaz or Baertschi. It's kinda interesting that 4 of them have played for the Flames in the past 12 months.

3.) I think Josi with Weber is one of the of the best D pairings in the League. Both log about 25 to 30 mins/game.
And Josi was MVP in the WC 2013, where the swiss won the silver medal.

I think that Parise contract is a dealbreaker even with 25% salary retention.
