Seen a lot of NJ fans complain about the Devils not addressing their defense and how it actually got weaker so I thought of a trade idea.
To New Jersey Devils :

That’s a joke. Hanfin is not worth Mercer and I’m not even sure he gets a late 1st.

Hanifin likely won't get dealt to the deadline. Calgary likely hoping he can have a good season for them on the backend. If some underachieving players can produce/ play how they can they could be playoff bound. If not they can cut ties with Hanifin at the deadline with 50% retained ($2,450,000) and get a really good return on him. Same goes for Lindholm who would with 50% is only at $2,425,000 which is ideal for playoff teams. Add a third team in and that cap hit could get even lower.

I’m not Hanfin is a dime in a dozen player he does probably get a 1st he’s better then David Savard when he was moved but he’s worse then Gavrikov. Mercer has more value then literally anything in the flames organization
Mercer for Andersson would be the closest deal to being fair but Calgary’s adds. Mercer is 21 years old and already looks like a star in the making.

Also I don't think Flames add to a Mercer trade if Andersson is involved, but I'm a Flames fan obviously so my opinion might be slightly biased to others I guess. I think Andersson is one of their most valuable pieces, he's a 26yr old RHD on a steal of a contract (4.55 @ 3 Years Remaining) with a career high of 50Pts, coming off of a 49pts season. He's solid defensively and almost has just as many pts as Mercer as a defensemen (Mercer had 56Pts on a really strong NJ team)

Vbbb I find your insight laughable. I don’t think you watch any western conference teams games. Hanafin is 26 and hasn’t even hit his peak years as a defenceman.

It's fun looking at these flames trades. the team is a complete dumpster fire with players not wanting to play there.
Hanifin is not in the realm of a Mercer trade. Hanifin is going to be a UFA. Mercer an RFA.
I hope this trade proposal was only baiting people to respond.

1. I wouldn't trade Mercer, period.
2. Hanifin doesn't get you Mercer. (Not even close in value. )

In a vacuum maybe Hanfin is better then Gravikov but Gravikov has a rarer skill set. If anything they have equal value. A Hanfin trade would look like a Gravikov trade.

I put hanifan 50% retained for Mercer a week ago and the exact same believable and unbelievable. So at 50% retained and straight across are the same. The site is bananas. Haha.
