Necas is the better of the two but Kotkaniemi is under contract for 8 more years, which is something that might interest Winnipeg.

Unlikely that interests Winnipeg even slightly. A low end bottom pairing defenseman that Carolina doesn't want to qualify, and one of two bottom 6 busts. One highly overpaid and the other looking to be highly overpaid. Along with a late first a year from now and a second.
The Jets get a better return for Dubois as a pure rental price of a first and a good prospect in two years and aren't stuck with bad contracts. Plus they get Dubois for two years.

Over the past two seasons Necas and Dubois have similiar numbers but Necas is a bust? And Kotkaniemi is overpaid but he’s only 21 and can easily out produce his contract. I gave the option of him because it seems the Jets need players that’ll stay.

And you think a 1st and a good prospect is better than this package that has a 1st, a 2nd and a good young NHL player? I threw Bear in because he’s a young RHD, could be a good option for Winnipeg if there trading away a lot of there vets for a retool.

Winnipeg is in big trouble. Seems like both Scheifele and Dubois will be signing elsewhere as UFAs in 2 years time.
