Value wise, it’s not crazy far off. I feel like this favours the Flames a bit.

Also Capitals won’t move Wilson, they like his intangibles which is why they rather keep him.

As a Flames fan I'd love that trade but I don't think Washington will trade him unless they're getting a better player.

Maybe they'd take Gaudreau for Wilson straight up. :)

MoxNix hell no. Gaudreau for Wilson, we’d be getting robbed. Gaudreau carries everybody he places with, he makes his linemates better. But everybody else that commented I agree, I think I probably overvalued my package from Calgary, I wanted to add a piece like Connor Mackey but decided not to

@NotACasual I could not disagree more. Gaudreau doesn't carry anyone, he drags them down whenever play get physical. Like in the playoffs, the most important time.

Wilson is one of a kind he is a gifted goal scorer while being a top 5 Physical player in the game. Guadreau is a 1 dimensional play maker. Not saying flames would trade Guadreau for Wilson but I know Washington wouldn’t. I’d even say they’d move Ovi before Wilson he is the heart and sole of team.

@Nylander I agree, in fact Wilson is exactly what the Flames need most, a right shot, right wing who is big, can score and plays a *very good physical game.

He's only 26 years old, still has 4 years left on his contract and isn't overpaid either.

AFAIC, if Washington was willing to even think about trading Wilson for Gaudreau Treliving would have to be insane not to go for it, even if he has to add a sweetener.
