5 game losing streak, lost 8 of 10, 7th place out of 8 teams in the division and that line has 2g and 2a combined over 5 games.

You’re not as dumb as these comments (also saying ‘leafs are better without Matthews haha) , it just shows the pettiness and the lengths you’re willing to go to. This actually wasn’t my proposal originally. It was floated on the Leafs forum, but I thought it was fantastic, so regurgitated it here as a type of response to the Slavin bromance lovefest in the thread below.

Thanks for stepping in defense for me. Yupp seems to forget that this is a rumors and discussion site after all. This would be the spot to post trade propositions. Not sure why he thinks Carolina would be so unwilling to trade Slavin. He’s now Doughty. Like I said in the thread below, Slavin is maybe top 50 (actually, according to NHL. com, he’s not even top 50). An above average defenseman with a good contract is about the most credit that can be given him. Same age as Rielly and just over half the games played. He’s not untouchable.

Yeah, nothing great has happened for the oilers this week so he will spend his time ripping leaf fans even if it means looking like a fool trying to convince you that winning 20% of a teams games means they’re on fire. I guess it’s either he tries to tear us down or he tells us how he gets to walk on brock lesners land again, so we should just take the abuse I suppose. Although he also enjoys mocking injured players and Erik Haula was stretchered off the ice last night, figured that would have kept him entertained for a few more hours atleast.

And yeah, I’m a fan of what Slavin has been able to do, but where this untouchable tag on him comes from, I will never understand. He makes just over $5mill long term which is nice, but so does Lindholm, Dumba, Rielly and lots more in that age range, all of which have a longer track record than him. Good player, fair contract, but they’re talking about him like he’s a Norris Dman with a 3rd pairing salary lol he’s a top 4 Dman with a top 4 salary. This isn’t Roman Josi or John Klingberg with 7 year deals at $4 mill.

Oilers haven't done anything this week, sure two losses back to back on the road vs cup champs and best team in the league. But imagine if they beat the caps on Monday for a second time his year and the Oilers would have had one more point than the cup favorite Leafs in the same amount games, and I made a post about it.

My guess is he’s older than I am (or close atleast) I assume he’s just a guy that gets talked down to at work too much so he comes on here to constantly talk down to a kid who has told us all he’s 17 years old. Some people need that outlet, it’s a shame he can’t take up boxing someone his own age or something, instead of making himself feel like a real man again at the expense of a kid half his age.

I agree Jim. I don’t care how old anyone is, if you’re going to bash everyone based on the team they cheer for then you have issues. There are many people that choose to talk down to people repeatedly to make themselves feel better. I’ve had civilized conversations with yupp many times over the years but his attitude changes like the weather, usually based upon the standings. I’m far from perfect and I’ve called out people on this site, including leaf fans, but at the end of the day I try to treat people with respect.

People have said wrong things on here before, we all have. Notice above, BoomBoom said Petry was 28, I said no he’s almost 31. He didn’t say the wrong age just to make someone else feel dumb about their comment and I wasn’t rude back to him. That’s the difference. I’m not attacking someone because they said something wrong. I responded this way because you’re insulting people every time they say something when in reality you say as many stupid/ factually incorrect things as anyone else. If we were offered Aho (Nylander) Bean (Liljegren) Faulk (Gardiner) and a first for Rielly (Slavin) and zaitsev (pesce) I wouldn’t call that delusional at all. I don’t want to trade Rielly. But that offer is not delusional lol

Now I know you will say Aho is better than Nylander and that’s not wrong. Faulk and Gardiner are very similar, Gardiner has been the better player recently. Bean and liljegren haven’t proven what they are but both have a shot to be a top 4 soon enough. Rielly is better than slavin, both long term, Rielly half a million cheaper, pesce is better than zaitsev, both long term, pesce half a mill cheaper.

If someone offered Aho, Bean, Faulk and a 1st that’s not some insulting insane offer.
