Probably not exactly the same, but.

Kadri scored 32 goals, 61 pts while centring his own line with Connor brown and Leo komarov playing head to head shutting down the top line every night. The Mcdavids, Crosby’s, ovies and Tavares.

Leon scored 29 goals and 77 points while riding shotgun with mcdavid for a Season.

I have a lot more faith in kadri being able to get 16 more points playing the wing with the best player in the league and abandoning defensive responsibility than I do in draisatl running his own line, not letting his offense suffer while his defense has to be his main focus.

Not to mention they’re both locked up long term, but draisatl makes 70% more than kadri lol is cap space and a good contract not an asset on its own anymore?! Is it not still a salary cap league? I’m sure oilers fans will see a 70% better player in Leon, but I don’t think anyone without orange and blue goggles on will.

Lastly, liljegren was 5 picks ahead of Yamamoto only 6 months ago, and was ranked as a top 5 at one point so would he not have a boost on Yama for evening value an ounce? Probably not, he’s blue and white, not orange.
