desert knights immediately becomes the most ridiculous name in the league if it is actually what they'll be called.

Yeah that's not a cool name. Sounds like a beer league team.

has anyone thought how they are going to have every team play 82 games with 31 teams.

I figured it out Colt. It's easy for East teams they play 30 (2 each) against west teams, 24 (3 each) against non-division but still conference oppenents, and then the remaining 28 games gets split into 4 games against each team in the division.

The West is a lil more tricky. Start with the pacific division.
They play 21 games (3 each) against central division teams, and 32 against East teams (2 each) . That leaves 29 games, sl that gets broken up into 4 games against each team in the division and then one extra game against a divison rival. Since there will be 8 teams in the division it works out perfectly. Say this is how extra games get broken down: LA-SJ, ARI-LAV, ANA-Van, EDM-CGY.

The central division is the hardest one to determine because they play 32 against East teams, 24 against west teams and that leaves 26 against divsion rivals. It's a weird number because they'll each play at least 4 against one another, but those remaining two are hard to split up evenly. I see it like this 5 of the 7 teams play two teams 1 extra time whil the remaining two teams will, instead of playing just 4 games against each other will play 6. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

Chi: Dal, STl
DAL: CHi, Nsh
Stl: Chi, Wpg
Nsh: Dal, WPg
Wpg: Nsh, stl

Col - Min play 2 more games against each/ 6 in total.

i don't think the schedule matters much at all. it's already not a balanced schedule even within a team's own division (some teams play division opponents more than others), so the NHL doesn't seem to care too much about that. they'll just throw something together and call it new and improved.

im just saying you have an odd number of teams trying to play even number of games eventually 1 team will get a buy week worth a win does that make sense. Mathematically it doesn't make sense. you can't take 31 teams and have every one play 82 games it just doesn't work that way Before you bash me think about and explain how it works.

31 is a prime number. i could see 62 games or 93 games but not 82 the numbers don't match. somewhere a team is going to get a buy to even things out.

They mine aswell give Quebec a team too, to even out the conferences. Quebec Nordiques. Nobody can trademark it lol. But only thing is. You'll be loosing some assets from your team
