kessel return is now basically andersen, rychel, and kapanen. i'm quite a bit happier with that than the origional deal.

I loved the chatter on this board last night, now it's back to absurdity. THE KESSEL TRADE WAS SUB-PAR. LIVE WITH IT.

Hell, if we are going to go the "looks good now" route, I guess selling Gretzky to LA worked out pretty good for the Oilers because they got McDavid. Hunky dory! Everything is always a-okay!

Agreed the return is looking much better now. Still kinda agree with chirp that the original trade was pretty meh. But hey looks good now so who cares.

please elaborate on how selling gretzky thirty or so years ago and getting mcdavid one year ago are directly linked. i don't need to expand on how kessel, kapanen, andersen, harrington, rychel, and the few other players involved are directly linked to each other.

now, if in 5 years or something, rychel is traded for a 7th and people mention that the kessel trade is now X + X + X + a 7th, your whining is then justified. right now, under a year out from the original deal, you just seem annoyed that the trade does, in fact, seem more beneficial to TOR than it did a week ago.

Kessel deal is looking way better now! A potential top goaltender, when they can improve their defense, and two young high upside wingers. Looks way better than the orginal deal. And I knew when the oilers traded gretkzy it would help them draft mcdavid.
