Montreal: Lars Eller, Dustin Tokarski, conditional 2nd round pick (turns into a 1st if Montreal gets past 2nd round)

Edmonton: Jordan Eberle.

Not enough coming back to Edmonton. A 3rd Line center, an AHL goalie and a 2nd? Doesn't remotely address Edmonton's needs.

Why does Edmonton think they get to be picky? they have two AHL goalies right now in their crease, and Eberle has 3 points on the season.

^^^Nilsson has done all he could. Doesn't have the experience as a true #1, but I think if you ask any Oiler fans, they are extremely happy with his performance. They have gone through goalies year after year and the only constant is the lack of a top 2 dman ever since Pronger. Doesn't take a genius to realize if the Oilers need a top dman. If they are trading their valuable assets, it needs to be for defensive help. Not saying Eberle will bring in a top dman, but a picks and a goalie prospects are not what the Oilers need.

I guess if you have AHL goalies you need to add more AHL goalies? Makes no sense and Talbot and Nilsson are both NHL goalies. Maybe haven't proven to be #1's yet but if Nilsson was a little more consistent I'd say he's at least playing like a #1.

lol if any goalie, or skater for that matter, currently in the NHL were more consistent they'd all likely be #1s. cocnsistency is often the difference between being goodd and being very good/great. everyone in the NHL has talent, whithout it they wouldn't be here, as hard work, attitude, etc. can only take you so far.

Okay well right now he's a number 1 goalie then. Maybe not in a month.

They had Petry, they got rid of him for basically nothing.

Eberle is too soft and overpaid, Habs need cap friendly hit for 2nd or 3rd line winger, like Yakapov (for now)

@Birdturd
You talk like you have a clue. Clearly you don't, but great try!

Eberle isn't doing well. Clearly.
Odd you didn't mention Draisailt tho. Called up when McDavid got injured, lit up the league, is top-5 in PPG performance in spite of going cold lately.

As for goaltending, Talbot surely has struggled. AHL-level tho? I wouldn't say so. But Nilsson? 0.915, 2.63. Amazing? No. But considering the defensive collaboration he has in front of him, he's been fantastic.

Oilers need defensive help, obviously. That's been obvious for years. Doesn't mean they're going to sell low for just anything.

The trade is HORRIBLE.

why would he mention draisaitl? the one guy performing well (not recently, which is a different story), and you want to trade him?
