Look at the two trades that TOR made
Here they are (combined)
To Nas/Pit
Franson
Santorelli
Winnik
To Tor:
1st
2nd
4th
Jokinen
Lesipic
Sill
So more or less:
Santorelli = 2nd
Franson = 1st, Sill
Winnik = Lesipic, Jokinen, 4th
Pretty even, what do u think?
1.) 27 Feb 2015
If sekara got a 1st and a prospect I think the leafs could've got 1st and lipsic just for franson alone. Winnik went for a 2nd, 4th so santorelli couldve got 2nd, 3rd so if the leafs would've waited they couple got a lot more but I think the deals are still good for toronto hopefully they manage well in trading the big boys
2.) 27 Feb 2015
And now Clarksons gone
@goodbyeloser!
3.) 27 Feb 2015
Technically:
To Nas/Pit/TB/CBJ/Chi:
Franson
Santorelli
Winnik
Ashton
Broll
Clarkson
Brennan
To TOR:
1st 2015
2nd 2016
4th 2015
7th 2016 (Conditional)
Abbott
Horton
Jokinen
Leipsic
Sill
Still a lot, though
4.) 27 Feb 2015
Yeah, overall its good but imo tor could have gotten a bit more for franson and santorelolli but robbed pittsburgh
5.) 27 Feb 2015

Toronto won big time. There was no chance that any of those three UFA's were going to resign.
6.) 27 Feb 2015

dont forget the best of all: clarkson for 5.25 mil in cap room.
7.) 27 Feb 2015
Toronto got a few good picks and prospects for guys that were leaving anyway.
And they got rid of Clarkson's cap hit for 6 more years without having to pay someone to take him.
Nonis might have just saved his job.

I think Nonis did really well considering that everyone knew Franson and Santorelli were unlikely to re-sign. When teams have that kind of leverage on you, you'd be lucky to walk away with a 3rd rounder.
