Brendan Dillon recently signed a 5 year deal with SJ

2.) 10 Aug 2015 12:04:33
There's a chance that would only be for Dillion. Torres has played 5 regular season games In the last 2 years.

Ok ok ok. First off Williams will get more money than that and so will Saad whom the blackhawks will get cap for. Secondly that sharks trade isn't even close. Not even a little bit. Thirdly Kunitz I doubt will fetch a 2nd more so 3rd/4th and Winnipeg wouldn't give up a pick for him in the fifst 3 rounds, better off using that money for Stafford or Frolik or better UFA's like a Belesky, Winnik, Stewart.

2.) 14 Jun 2015 16:35:10
Stop that stupid Saad offersheets, CHI will match anything thrown at him and just trade Sharp/Versteeg/Bickell/whoever necessary to fit it under the cap.

1.) 01 Jun 2015 11:44:50
very unlikely the Sabres would trade a 1st and a prospect for 36 year old Scuderi.

2.) 01 Jun 2015 13:38:45
Belesky will get around 4-4.5 mil (even though I don't think he's worth it)
Franson will get around 5-5.5 mil(also not worth it)
With today's NHL any somewhat good UFAs get paid big come July 1st

3.) 01 Jun 2015 15:53:57
Didn't Tanguay do good this year? Avs say no

4.) 01 Jun 2015 20:23:28
You can just sign veterans instead of trading 1st round draft picks lol

I don't think both trade would ever happen. IF Florida/Pittsburgh trade did work out, it would make sense for both teams, here's why?

Pittsburgh gains a promising young top 6 winger, salary dumps Scuderi (3,375,000x2 years) while getting out of Letang's long term committment of (7,200,000x8 years). Acquiring Campbell's contract of 7,142,875 for one season will benefit the younger defensemen on this team because Martin and Ershoff most likely won't be back. This trade would free up $3,432,125 without signing RFA Huberdeau. However, that would probably go straight to his new contract.

Now Florida gets a young unknown potential player in Bennett and if healthy they get a franchise offensive defenseman in Letang for 8 years. Scuderi will be a bottom 6th defenseman but Florida has the salary cap room to add his salary.

See this trade as:
Huberdeau for Letang
Campbell for Bennett and Scuderi

I'm sorry that I think more indepth to each trade proposal. I could breakdown the second trade if you want.

Thanks Captain Canada for making me overthink a trade proposal.

2.) 26 Apr 2015 20:49:46
You just gave reasons why it would happen but your saying it won't? You didn't think that indepth… the main reason why it wouldn't work is Letangs health issues, not bad otherwise.

Assume the order stays the same after the Draft Lottery: THIS IS A PENS FAN, IN NO WAY BIASED

Trade:
To EDM:
Nazem Kadri,
Dion Phaneuf,
Jonathan Bernier
2017 2nd

To TML:
3rd Overall
Nail Yakupov

Edmonton solves every issue they have. they get their top 2 dman, 2nd line Center, and a starting goalie.

Leafs continue to build for the future.

Trade 2:

To FLA:
Phil Kessel

To TML:
Brian Campbell (cap reasons)
11th overall

1) Buffalo-> Connor McDavid
2) Arizona-> Jack Eichel
3) Toronto-> Noah Haniffin
4) Toronto-> Dylan Strome
5) Carolina
6) NJ
7) Philly
8) Columbus
9) San Jose
10) Colorado

Toronto then swap their 11th and 25th picks for Max Domi and a 2nd 2016

1.) 14 Apr 2015 12:41:36
Excellent trade! I would do the first one from either perspective! The second one I believe kessel could fetch more. Just my opinion tho.

2.) 14 Apr 2015 13:52:43
I think EDM keeps the 3rd pick. I've seen a few people suggest the Leafs could trade up with Edmonton, with Phaneuf as the main piece.

So: TOR: 3rd overall - EDM: 4th overall, Phaneuf

The Florida trade is alright.

3.) 14 Apr 2015 15:23:46
it doesn't solve any of EDM's problems. phaneuf isn't a legit #1, he'd be in the same situation as he is in TOR and will be constantly criticised just as he is in TOR. Bernier may be a very good goalie in the near future (2-3 years by the time he's 28/29), but he has shown that he needs a team in front of him to excel, which EDM doesn't have either nd his numbers will likely be even worse than they were the 2nd half of this year in Toronto. finally, explain to me why EDM needs a #2c? they ave rnh and draisaitl that will likely be their top 2 c's in a couple years and they might even draft strome just because they have some kind of weird fetish reagrding picking forwards with every top pick they have except for nurse.

4.) 15 Apr 2015 03:00:16
shank, can you name me 30 legit #1 dmen? nope. dion would be as he is right now, far and away the best dman on either team.

unless your carey price every goalie needs a team in front of him to succeed

draisatl isn't close to ready to undertake full time 2nd line c duties. like you said maybe in 2 years, maybe. doesn't help edmonton now. kadri is better and is still very young.

this trade does help both teams, not saying it would happen.

5.) 15 Apr 2015 05:16:10
Toronto will get more for kessel. he's going to the islanders

The edm one is a bad trade for Leafs, Bernier is not going anywhere.

I love this as a pens fan. There is a chance that these two teams play in the first round, would be exciting to see

Toronto won big time. There was no chance that any of those three UFA's were going to resign.
