It is well documented that the cost to move Campbell alone is a 1st & 3rd.

I think there's a trade to be made between MTL & EDM, but this isn't close.

you may get rid of Armia but you comparing a 3.40 x 2yr contract to a 5.00 x 4yr contract who's currently getting lit up in the AHL... maybe Armia for Campbell, Broberg/Holloway and a 1st but I don't see how the Habs add to that trade. Armia would be an easier buyout/bury to swallow compared to Campbell so the Oilers probably do it. Broberg makes more sense than Holloway, he requested a trade and the Habs could use another defensemen that fits their young core at 22yrs old, maybe that could be an interesting fit. The Habs already have a logjam of forwards.

BFG: I hear you, but Armia is a big body on a reasonable contract who has picked up his play since the demotion. He’ll bring a 5th or 6th without retention, and perhaps a 3rd with retention.

Also, I’m not big on Holloway or any of the EDM prospects. They don’t look can’t-miss NHL players to these eyes.

Armia is untradable unless you take back a horrible contract in return. But taking that plus a first and Holloway is crazy, montreal has to send a 1st to get rid of him to another team.

Armia would cost to dump IMO. Holloway and Broberg are both NHL caliber players. They need opportunity and some time but they’ll be full time quality NHLers this year/ next year.
