Pittsburgh is looking to trade Granlund and want Hanifin. Calgary will need a Backlund replacement once he’s traded. Everything works out cap wise. The deal that the Flames rumoured to of turned down at the draft was the 14th Overall Selection, Owen Pickering & Samuel Poulin for Noah Hanifin and Daniel Vladar which I think was a huge mistake. Don’t know how credible that source is so obviously take it with a grain of salt.

PIT should just start the inevitable rebuild, but since they won’t, this trade makes more sense than the Karlsson rumours?.

Could find cheaper 3rd line centers but the dent you have to take for getting the other 2. A 1st and Pittsburgh best prospect is maybe a bit to much but taking grandlund evens it out.
