MTL is mortgaging their future with this trade for Dubois, who could maybe sign as a free agent when he becomes an unrestricted free agent

WPG loses one of their top 6 centers just before the playoffs, with no replacement for him

PLD won't be moved until the summer if he is moved.

Montreal isn't giving up Slafkovsky.

Drouin is UFA this summer and worthless.

Barron is a decent B level prospect.

Winnipeg isn't moving a young 1C for a winger with potential that is currently struggling quite a bit.

There's just not enough value there for Winnipeg.

It's also hard to say if Winnipeg will want an all futures deal or if they will want a roster player type deal.

Say Winnipeg offers PLD 9 to 10 million does
Montreal match or does PLD play for hometown
discount. How does that affect Montreal cap.
Maybe Montreal makes a decent trade offer.
