Wpg - K. Vesalainen and N. Beaulieu

Vesalainen has 1g in 50+ games this season and needs a change in scenery. Paul would be a replacement for Copp once he's traded this weekend for picks.

I don't believe that Paul would help the Jets and I don't think Ottawa would like this trade as well. The Jets would rather receive draft picks or a younger prospect.

The Jets shouldn't be buying, so they shouldn't be giving up a decent young player for a rental.

Seriously now, whose the decent young player? I've watched Vesalainen all year and he's awful! He wanted Laine money just a few years ago. Currently he's being paid $900,000/ goal and can't budge off the 4th line? Paul wants a raise and he'd be a great fit with Lowry on the 3rd line and can kill penalties. Excellent replacement for Copp who will unfortunately get traded by Monday as he's wanting 5+ mill/ year which we can't afford. Jets have a number of healthy contracts and could work Paul in for 3y at 10mill.

If Paul or Copp get traded before the deadline it'll be to contenders not to Winnipeg and Ottawa.

If WPG wants Nick Paul, they can bid on him via Free Agency in the off season should Ottawa not re-sign him, otherwise this looks like an off season sign and trade type deal, not a deadline deal.

I agree with moxnix and the jets guys, this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
