Mistake by the sens!

Brian Murray is the reason the sens suck, Mclean was the only reason they were not doing worse.

Lets look at his track record:
Kept Redden over Chara (lost Chara in FA for nothing)
Mishandled Alfie (embarrassing management decisions)
Spezza demands out, traded for nothing
Heatley demands out, traded for nothing

See a pattern here, every star demands out of ottawa?

On top of all this they never traded up in the draft to select a talented prospect to replace these guys.
How do you expect a coach to win games when you give him an AHL team.

Only good move he made was Anderson signing and Turris trade. Ryan is overrated (25 goal guy) and The only reason they even got EK was because he fell to his lap in the draft.

If murray is truly trying to save the season he is a moron, Ottawas only hope is to tank and get mcdavid or eichel. Its about the future now.

I Agree that Ottawa made a big Mistake today but I don't put the blame on Bryan Murray as much as you do.

Heatley: Didn't get along with Cory Clouston.

Spezza: didn't want to deal with the pressure and scrutiny in a Canadian market.

Alfie: Wanted a chance to win the cup and felt he had a better chance with Detroit.

Chara: was let go under John Muckler.

Bryan Muarry isn't a coach killer. He just can't hire the right coach.
John Paddock manage to get Ottawa out to a fantastic start winning 15 of 17 and then after that they started to spiral and then went 21-22-6 and the last two games ottawa got shut out and blown out in those two games. It sounds ridiculous but the season before they were in the Stanley cup finals.

Craig Hartsburg was just awful going 17-24-7 and did not compete.

If Paul MacLean wasn't liked by the "leaders" in the dressing room, then Cory Clouston was hated. He is the reason why Ottawa is where they are right now. Cory Clouston manage to get Heatley to demand a trade and they were playing so bad that Bryan Murray had no choice but to dismantle the team and rebuild to where we are today.

Now, Paddock and Clouston are coaching in the junior ranks and Hartsburg is the associate coach in Columbus. Neither of them have had a chance to be a head coach in the league again, coincidence?

He managed to hire a highly qualified coach in Paul Maclean who was Mike Babcock's(the best coach in the league IMO) right hand man for 8 years got to the Stanley cup finals 3 times and won once, he was nominated to the Jack Adams award twice and won once. However I feel he got fired because the majority of the dressing room didn't want him there. Which is bull crap! I think that shows me that the leadership core in that room is soft and weak minded.
But now Ottawa has hired a unqualified coach AGAIN in Dave Cameron, no offence to him personally he shouldn't have even received an offer. Fun fact, Eugene Melnyk was the owner of the Toronto St. Michael's Majors while Dave Cameron was the head coach was there. I think Melnyk is trying to be even more cheap than he currently is and is financially purging this already light franchise IMO. The biggest problem with this team = Eugene Melnyk.

So to sum it up:

Paul MacLean: Shouldn't have got fired. I hope he receives another head coaching gig in the near future and has a successful coaching career.

Dave Cameron: Should not have been hired. Prediction, he has 2 years left on his contract I think he gets fired before that contract expires.

Bryan Murray: Cannot hire a decent coach, I don't mind if he makes Cameron a Interim coach and wait and see if Babcock or Mclellan becomes available and try to hire a coach of that stature. But he has already said that Cameron isn't the interim coach he IS the head coach.

Melnyk: needs to sell the team and have nothing to do with this team or any other team in the league.

If this was Toronto Murray would have been put through the wood chipper years ago.

The fact is every star Ottawa has ever had left, and they were replaced by B level prospects. No Nhl team in history, actually no other GM in history has lost every single one of their star players for nothing.

If you think Murray is a good GM you need to feel your head.

Eugene is also part of the problem I agree, but hiring Mike Babcock couldn't even help this squad. Time for Murray to vacate the GM position.

im not sure if you're actually serious now ir not, cause it has been outlined for you many times that murray isn't the reason for any one of ottawa's stars leaving. and with no ability to spend money how do you expect him to replace them?

None of those guys exept Kovachyuk and Hossa were traded in their primes and the fact that you have guys like pascal duspuis and jeff friesen is rediculas.

Ottawa lost:
Chara (in his prime)
Heatley (in his prime)
Spezza (in his prime)
Fisher (in his prime)
and then screwed over their captian

On top of that murray replaced these guys with 3rd liners like david legwand and never lowered the teams expectations.

Sens fans! Its ok to admit that your team sucks, rebuilding is a natural process, If you tank this year and get mcdavid you will be a good team again real soon. But don't try and say lazar and zibinijad are A+ prospects, and don't try and say Murray is a good GM. He is not a good GM its a fact. He is a coach killer.
