Looks like gorges is a poor mans lindros.this is why I don't understand no trade clauses. All the people in farm clubs that would love to be up playing the sport they love and you get idiots like gorges pulling a lindros. Shame on him

1.) 01 Jul 2014
Answer me this. why would he want to go to Toronto?

2.) 01 Jul 2014
If he's willing to play in montreal, he should have no problem playing in toronto.

3.) 01 Jul 2014
Totally different situation ovie montreal has a winning team and he is already there. my point is why would he agree to go to Toronto when he has a choice. i'm sure there are at least 15 other teams who are more desirable now then the leafs.

4.) 01 Jul 2014
They answered this on tsn on insider trading I believe when they mentioned Gorges is somewhat old school where he does not want to play for his teams rival. I think that's more the reason for him not wanting to leave then say the media spotlight and such.

5.) 01 Jul 2014
I get what your saying, he doesn't have to leave or want to leave, but you're still a person for saying the leafs are a losing team or an undesirable destination, get your head out of the clouds champ, this seasons over we both lost. the habs are not cup contenders so them being a "winning" team doesn't say much to draw in big name players who want to win.

lebron would not be bringing his talents to montreal if he played puck

hey buds response seems legitimate

You can't honestly think with the shape the leafs are in and how mad the media are there that players are jumping at the chance to go there. for god sakes man look what they had to pay for Clarkson and he was a home town boy. you my friend need to take your head out of the clouds and come back to reality

7.) 01 Jul 2014
@ Hab

Clarkson was going to get signed some where for at least 5-+6 million on a 5-6 year deal. I don't think he's a good example to use for the point you're making.

To your point, why would a player put a NTC into their contract if not for a scenario like This one. I get the point the poster is making, but why go somewhere you may be unhappy. However, I don't think it has nearly as much to do with the exposure one receives while in Toronto as you're suggesting.

In general, unless the trade was for a throw away piece from Toronto's end, I am glad they are not getting Gorges. He's a good player, but not one I would unload young talent for.

8.) 01 Jul 2014
Yeah because Buffalo is a better place to go to.

Never mind from a hockey side of the deal
Buffalo is a poor poor city
Bad winters poor everything

At least Toronto has a great mayor Rob FOrd. lol

DOnt hold that against us

Hab

Gionta at 5 M was so much better

Where is he now

Oh yeah Buffalo

10.) 01 Jul 2014
Ok will maybe bolland is a better example

11.) 02 Jul 2014
Gionta?had it not been for a season where he missed 50 games and the lockout year he would have had 4 straight 20 plus goal seasons in montreal plus 18 more last year in a mainly defensive role. remind me what has clarkson done since coming to toronto? now I feel like he could have a bounce back year but right now he's one of if not the worst signings in the league. and yes gionta is in buffalo, montreal loses him at just the right time. how many more years does clarkson have?

12.) 02 Jul 2014
Eh hab! Your head is bigger than your whole team.

13.) 02 Jul 2014
I feel Georges on This, why would he be willing to be enemy number one enemy in Toronto when we know that they are big long therm rival! Were going to miss him! I do think The deal was bether in Toronto! let's be honnest the way that leaf d has been treated on the last few years ex: komisarek, gleason. I understand Georges not wanting to go there!
