DeBrincat signs with Detroit for 8x7.875m aav = 8 year $63million contract similar to Fiala and Bratt's recent contracts

Debrincat will require more in a trade, and command a higher salary, than this trade proposal. (My guess is he signs for no less than 9M)

Has to be a Detroit involved, NOT a 2nd. DeBrincat carries way too much value to get that little in return. Wallander is OK but he ain't enough to tip the scales. Not even close. DeBrincat is a 2 time 40 goal scorer and had Ottawa stayed healthy and he got the chance to play all year with Norris or Stutzle like he was brought in to do, and had Ottawa got Chychrun sooner instead of wasting minutes on Holden and Zaitsev, he'd likely be a 3 time 40 goal scorer.

From Detroits perspective, this is already an overpayment. No Wallinder at all. At this price, Ottawa can keep the Cat.

He'll never hit 40 again without kane on his wing, mediocre offensive skills and can't play a lick of defence.

Contract is good but value is off probably. I think they get more unless literally no one wants to sign him for that money.
