How come Jets fan where saying they would get a solid roster player+a first round pick and top prospect?

I guess for a trade like that, Jersey wasn't trying hard to get him. Seems like they wouldn't have had to lose very much for him.

I am puzzled by this trade. The Jets gave Trouba away for Pionk? Does anyone know what type of player the Jets are getting in him?

Yeah pretty terrible for the Jets. I wonder if NYR was Trouba's preferred destination and Chevy did him a favour and moved him there for being a good soldier all these years? Maybe we'll learn more at the pressers.

Just finished his first season with 26 points in 73 games and averaged 21m a night. He looks ok but not nearly what the asking price on this site was.
Also, jets would not let teams speak with Trouba or his agent to discuss extensions - so all teams were going in blind.

I'm wondering if Trouba doesn't intend on extending with the NYR and will be on the move at the end of next season. In his interview in the Winnipeg Sun, Trouba gave his standard "I haven't thought about it, we'll talk about that later" answer about extending.
