If that’s what you think is realistic, you have never watched Rielly play. Expand your horizon outside Winnipeg. Rielly was first pairing with ekblad for todd McClellan at the World Cup and after ekblad was hurt, parayko took that spot on his right side, not Trouba. Not saying that means everything and not saying Trouba isn’t good, he is. I’d like him to play on Riellys right side, but if you think he’s better than Rielly that’s fine, I disagree, but it’s not a first rounder difference either way.

Well you could make an argument Trouba=Rielly but he’s definitely not better I’ll take Rielly over Trouba + Rielly is signed to a great contract while Trouba is looking for a big raise.

First time in history, with 2 different incarnations of the Jets that your team wins 2 rounds and you can talk down to franchises lol enjoy it while it lasts. Rielly is as good of not better than Trouba. Trouba is more physical, that’s the only thing he can compete with Rielly in. Skating isn’t even close, hockey IQ isn’t close, and Trouba has had guys like buff, enstrom, Myers and even now Morrisey to bail out his mistakes. Rielly has been the guy since the day phaneuf left, with no one to insulate or cover for him. Watch a game. Not just a street party lol.

Toronto's first round exit against Boston highlighted the fact that the Leafs only have 3 NHL quality D men, Rielly being the best. However, Reilly completely lacks any actual defensive ability and because of that he should not be playing above a #3 spot. Reilly is no where near the top pairing quality, shutdown D man Trouba is.

The funniest part of all this, other than you guys needing to learn how to read and understand advanced stats is that as useless as Trouba is Leaf fans beg the Jets to trade him there weekly.

I could just see it if it happened though. Trouba would go from the AHL tweener that he is now to being one of the top 5 D men in the league as soon as he set foot in Toronto.
