This could be a 2016 offseason trade. If the whole Lehner thing in Buffalo doesn't workout, and Vasy in Tampa breaks out, Bish could be out the door soon.

To Buffalo
G, Ben Bishop

To Tampa Bay
C, Sam Reinhart

Don't know if value is good here but I think with Buffalos stacked centre core of Eichel, O'Reilly, and Girgensons. Reinhart is kinda expendable. Since Reinhart is a righty he could play RW along side Drouin and Stammer. I'm not sure how high Sam's value is but I think a straight up deal for Bish isn't too terrible of a deal. Also Tampa has loads of picks and peices they could add to even it out if needed.

I see this as an offseason move. Tampa would probably want a defenceman and just swap Reinhart for one whose similar potential wise.

Yeah, as he said, definitely an offseason-move, if at all.
Buffalo is definitely one of the potential trade partners, imo.
Value wise, I'd say it's pretty good. Putting two great playmakers next to Stamkos in Drouin and Reinhart could pay big dividends.
As for the need on D, I think Koekkoek next year and DeAngelo next or the second next year are definitely able to fill the holes that Coburns and Carles departures (hopefully) next summer leave) .

I like the trade personally, if they know 100% Vasilevski is ready.

It fills major needs for both teams, and the value is pretty close if not fair for both. Drouin-Stamkos-Reinhart would be deadly.

I understand why people like this trade. Just as a Tampa fan I'm not sure. Value probably there but Buffalo gets a lot better by getting a goalie that can win them games. Tampa adds to an already crowded forward group. Not to mention the trades within division.

Tampa adds IMO. I don't know how much maybe Killorn?

Maybe Killorn? He isn't like a little throw-in.

Reinhart would never be traded to a division rival and the sabres are not giving up on Lehner especially after paying a first for him.

I didn't say he was. I'm not sure how much Tampa would have to add but do you really think Bishop could get a 2nd overall? I think people are overlooking Reinhart in this trade for some reason. Would you do Bishop for Bennet?

If my team was in glaring need for a number one goalie that can carry a team in the playoffs (Bishop has proven both) while dealing from an absolut surplus (Eichel, ROR, Girgensons, etc), yes I'd do it.

Do you think the Sabres will fare better in the playoffs once they reach them with Lehner (this is all under the premise he does not prove to be an elite #1) and Reinhart or a #1 goalie that has already carried a team to the cup final?

I'd take the latter any day fo the week.

Yeah the Oilers should've traded McDavid for Bishop then. Now yes yes McDavid is an exaggeration but you don't trade the future. I wouldn't trade the young centre with high potential. Who knows they could snag a goalie in FA like Calgary or whoever else did.

No point in trading for a stud goalie now, why give up a 19 year old potential elite center for a goalie nearing 30 when your team needs to mature for atleast another 2 seasons to be competitive.

Because goalies usually enter their prime with 30 or slightly above 30? Would be a perfect fit.

The McDavid comparison is pretty bad, he's THE piece of EDM. Reinhart is the 3rd center piece, behind Eichel (obvious) and ROR (contract, two-way play, leadership) . So that's a totally different situation.

As a said, an elite #1 goalie - Reinhart will get them much further in the playoffs than a suckish/mediocre goalie + Reinhart will.

Reinhart isn't as significant as McDavid but he's still young with tons of potential. There not competing for a cup so they don't need Bishop that bad right now. Plus they just traded a 1st for Lenher I'm sure they have more faith then him being a backup. All scenarios aside Bishop isn't worth a recent 2nd overall.
