Boston / New York

Bruins trade Malcolm Subban, Torey Krug & 2016 1st(BOS)

Rangers trade Keith Yandle & Dylan Mclirath

Bruins get a top 4 pick moving defencemen they need + young tough defender who may get a shot in Boston.

Rangers probably wouldn't be able to keep Yandle at the end of the year. They may aswell get a good return as they gave up quite a bit. Krug could play on the 3rd pairing with Klein and get some powerplay time. Subban could be goalie of future when King Henrik retires and Rangers get a 1st round pick. They haven't had one in the last two years and now have 2 in a draft that's starting to look stronger then they were anticipated to be.

Thoughts?

I think New York would be dumb to not take that but I don't know if Boston would want to give up that much youth for one year of Yandle. I'd think they'd rather create a little more room for Franson

IMO, too much for Yandle. UFA next year and hasn't exactly looked great on the Rangers besides the Tampa series.

I think that just a lateral move for Boston more than anything while getting older, giving up the the better prospect and giving up a 1st. B's pass.

I'm all for getting yandle with a first and subban, isn't krug molded in quite the same way though? Not as big, but he's probably our second best defenseman, and the only one with puck moving skills outside of Morrow who may not fit in the rotation this season. As a fan, I'd rather have Krug and give them a young and under control player to New York with Subban and a first, a decent prospect, maybe Morrow. Don't know if they'd give Mclirath since he is pretty nice prospect and they gave up a 1st and prospects to get just Yandle, why sacrafice more than they paid ya know? Overall it's nice, just hard to see parting with Krug when he's one of our best, and probably the most effective d-man on our powerplay.

Bos won't move their picks for next year as the top three picks are subject to lottery. Subban could work, I doubt they move Krug as he's the only other puck moving Dman the Bruins currently have. Without Yandle essentially guranteeing to resign this is way too much to give up.
