Oilers close to signing Kris russel to a 1 year/ 3m deal.

Tankie how do you feel about this pick up?

Oilers fans how about Kris Russel?

TheNumbNut

1.) 08 Oct 2016 05:37:01
Lol better than Fayne.

2.) 08 Oct 2016 05:47:44
Tankie stop overvaluing Yakupov, he's just a bust

3.) 08 Oct 2016 05:52:38
Kris Russell reminds me of Ladislav Smid in the good old days when he wasn't always injured. Awesome Penalty Killer, blocks everything, just a better skater, that's it.

4.) 08 Oct 2016 07:40:29
Russell gives Edmonton more hope in the defence field and I like what they're doing, they're going in the right direction. though i'm unsure about what they're doing with their offence and their goalie tandem could be questionable.

5.) 08 Oct 2016 15:56:50
I really don't like this we did trade crap for him so that's good but would rather have rattie play but in general not happi.

6.) 08 Oct 2016 18:06:17
I'm willing to bet 10 dollars that by the end of the year colt will call Yak a top 50 player in NHL up there with Paryanko.

7.) 08 Oct 2016 18:36:08
That will be a long shot but anything is possible ^.

8.) 08 Oct 2016 20:02:05
@VB Beauty oiler rookies always flourish in St Louis. Ask Maagus Paajarvi.

9.) 08 Oct 2016 20:41:48
Last time I saw Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson was on the waiver wire last season.

10.) 09 Oct 2016 02:32:49
Last time I saw him was playing in the playoffs for the blues last season. Even set up a goal lol.

Thought of a couple Koko trades while in class today. To be clear he is leaning towards the KHL but will stay if traded, he doesn't fit in with the Bruins so i thought of some scenarios. Forgive me if my values off for some i haven't really looked into the asking prices.

Boston - Koko
CBJ - Rychel

Boston - Koko 2nd
Buffalo - Girgensons

Boston - Koko
Arizona - Dahlbeck 3rd

Boston - Koko Morrow
Philly - Laughton

Just a couple off the top of my head, i feel like Girg and Laughton would maybe be worth more not sure. Let me know what you think.

TheNumbNut

1.) 03 Jun 2016 23:32:52
What about BOS Khokalchev for CGY Poirier?? Or BOS Khokalchev for TOR Gauthier/Kapanen??

2.) 04 Jun 2016 01:39:35
Pass from all teams. Koko is going to the KHL.

3.) 04 Jun 2016 01:42:37
Those are some more solid options, these were just some i randomly thought of.

4.) 04 Jun 2016 04:40:23
He stated he would be fine with staying in the Nhl only if he gets the chance.

23 Apr 2016 17:55:07
Should the Bruins trade David Krejci? If so what are your opinions on what they could get back for him? If a trade were to happen i'd think Minny would be interested and maybe a deal like this could happen -

Bos - Krejci Morrow

Min - Spurgeon Nino.

TheNumbNut

1.) 23 Apr 2016 18:22:28
I don't think it's bad.

2.) 23 Apr 2016 22:54:19
I think so, was watching some clips of the 2011 playoffs and he isn't nearly as engaged as he once was.

3.) 24 Apr 2016 04:42:33
Easy no from Wild. Nino is starting to look like a good player, Spurgeon is a decent top 4 Dman who can quarterback a power play. Krecji hasn't been the same player since they won the cup and he's got a hefty contract. Morrow hasn't done much to be worth either of those 2 from the Wild.

Leafs - Spaling Polak

Sharks 2017 2nd 2018 2nd Torres

Good deal by the leafs.

TheNumbNut

1.) 22 Feb 2016 13:55:56
before people start saying unbelievable its a real confirmed trade, good trade for the leafs.

2.) 22 Feb 2016 14:14:32
great trade IMO. good value.

3.) 22 Feb 2016 14:42:04
Figured Polak would get a 2nd. Extra second for Spaling and taking on torres is just gravy. Solid deal for leafs.

4.) 22 Feb 2016 15:29:30
People said Polak would get a 3rd at best and don't say you didn't say that because a handful of you did. Love our management.

5.) 22 Feb 2016 16:50:26
I think they got higher picks because they're further in the future but still solid since toronto probably doesn't care about that they have enough picks this year. Future picks have less trade value than current ones but they are appreciating assets that could only get better as that draft approaches allowing toronto to sit on them till they use them or flip them for better.

6.) 22 Feb 2016 16:53:29
I was really hoping the Sharks would pick up a puck moving dman, but I'm happy with both our forward and defensive depth after this trade. With a good backup this team has a chance to make some noise.

As for the trade, I think essentially there was one 2nd for Spaling, another for Polak. Torres basically has negative value since he won't play again and even if he does, his form will take a long time to regain. With Torres having negative value, it means that the other two were with a little less than 2 2nds.

7.) 22 Feb 2016 17:20:53
spaling worth a 2nd? i don't think so, he's barely better than torres.

8.) 22 Feb 2016 17:39:15
Surprised the Sharks gave up 2 2nds. Thought the leafs coulda got to 2nd and a late pick not 2. Leafs win the trade hands down.

9.) 22 Feb 2016 18:17:52
*a 2nd.

10.) 22 Feb 2016 18:43:14
Haha agreed would've been happy with a 6th for Spaling same as Matthais but management is rolling.

11.) 22 Feb 2016 18:51:42
Well shankar proves that you really don't have a clue eh bud. I like how you say I don't think so. but it has already happened that way. Hhehehe and u said once that your an actually GM? Should have said your a garbage man, your used to shoveling it.

12.) 22 Feb 2016 19:36:29
Paolozza

He's not worth a 2nd, San Jose overpaid and no other GM would have given that for him. So Shankar makes more sense to be a GM lol.

13.) 22 Feb 2016 20:04:51
WOW are you his assistant on the garbage truck? It does not matter sometimes what u think he is worth there is so many factors that will determine what the trade will become. I just want him to feel like when he talks down to people. That's what he deserves.

14.) 22 Feb 2016 23:37:48
Paolozza you shouldn't be trying to insult other people on here. You are def in the top 5 for most delusional proposals on here. Get a clue.

15.) 23 Feb 2016 00:47:57
Leafs were smart to get the picks down the road, I could see sharks moving down the standings next couple years, right now maybe sharks paid a little too much but if they decline, will be even better for the leafs. we'll see if Polak can keep up with playoff speed.

I saw this trade on twitter and i wanted to get some thoughts on it.

Tampa - Drouin - Stamkos

St. Louis - Berglund - Backes - Fabbri - Shattenkirk.

TheNumbNut

1.) 09 Jan 2016 00:57:59
I think that's too much cap going back to Tampa in that deal .

Backes: 4.5 million
Berglund: 3.65 million ( I believe? Don't quote me on that though . )
Fabbri:? Not sure what his cap hit is .
Shattenkirk: 4.5 million

For

Drouin:? Not sure what his cap hit is either .
Stamkos: 7.5 million ( I'm stupid when, it comes to finding cap hits . )

With that being said. i have heard that Tampa is pretty close to the cap so, just on money alone, i don't see it being possible .

Pre-season is almost finished and final roster cuts will soon be made, have there been any surprise players this year? Anyone who seemed to jump and is fighting for a roster spot for your respective teams?

For the Bruins Heinen/ / Czarnik/ Carlo/ O'Gara are all still with the team and Carlo has looked really good from the few games i saw and pieces i've read. Heinen and Czarnik actually both seem to be close to making the team at this point. I'd like to see Carlo get some AHL seasoning but wouldn't mind if he played this year, really excited to see what Heinen and Czarnik can do.

My projected lines -

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Spooner - Krejci - Pastrnak
Beleskey - Czarnik - Hayes
Heinen - Moore - Nash

Chara - C. Miller
Krug - Mcquaid
Liles - K. Miller

Rask
Khudobin

Extra - Randell, Morrow.

1.) 07 Oct 2016 17:06:38
For the Habs i'd like to see Sergachev get his audition before they send him to Jr. and. if he can stay. stay.
Interested about Lekkonen. sounds like he has had a good pre season, and is fitting in quite well. McCarron could work well as a 3rd line center.
I guess . in my opinion., its time to give some of these kids a chance. the bottom 6 of Montreal has become pretty stale. so instead of doing rhe same thing over and over again, why not inject some youth into the lineup.

2.) 07 Oct 2016 21:20:35
I've liked Kasperi Kapanen over the course of his games. Hope he gets a shot on a line with like Tyler Bozak. One guy who played terribly in his last game was Matt Hunwick. Just God awful. Hopefully he is a scratch for the opening night, cause as much as he is a "mentor", you can see how much slower he is compared to the pace of the game.

04 Jul 2016 21:51:25
Bos - Spooner

Nyr - Hayes 2017 4th (florida)

Boston gets a big body for the 3rd line role and can play with his brother and hopefully will ignite something for them both to help produce.

Bos - Griffith Morrow 2017 1st

SJ - Braun

San jose gets considerably younger with a nhl-ready Griffith who lit up the Ahl last year and a project Defenceman in Morrow while gaining cap space for next years Burns contract.

Bos - Krejci Zboril

Min - Brodin 2017 2nd

Bit of an overpayment here for Boston but the value for D is high right now, Krejci though often injured has shown he is a proven playoff performer and puts up good regular season numbers, also get a good young prospect in Zboril who had a struggle of a year but ceiling is still really high.

Sign hudler 1 year at 4.5m (Bonus filled similar to Iginla deal years ago)

Sign Hayes 3 years at 3.5m per

Sign Vesey to an entry-level contract

2016-17 lineup

Marchand - Bergeron - Vesey
Hudler - Backes - Pastrnak
Vatrano - K. Hayes - J. Hayes
Beleskey - Nash - Schaller/ Randell

Chara - K. Miller
Brodin - Braun
Krug - Mcquaid

Let C. Miller JFK Senyshyn and Carlo push for roster spots and dangle Mcquaid/ Chara for whatever picks or prospects they can get.

If they can somehow move one of the overpaid D after this season they should have enough for Marchand, didn't completely research these trades cap-wise simply because i can't be bothered but i think it would work.

let me know where i'm wrong.

1.) 04 Jul 2016 23:43:37
The last two trades are absulutly terrible for Boston. Like really.

29 Jun 2016 23:38:14
Don't worry Oil and hab fans, the Bruins are yet to make a move this off-season so you won't be alone for long

Anyway 2 huge trades went down today so i thought i'd put out my opinion on them -

Subban - Weber Jesus Montreal after all Subbans done for the city and the Org and you trade him right before his no-trade kicks in. Kind of like a slap-in-the-face. I suppose Shea will still be real good for a couple more years but 7m+ til he is 41? Geesh.

Hall- Larsson Being a Bruins fan i had quite the laugh when i first saw that this actually happened. Only PC would have the balls to trade both the 1st and 2nd overall picks from 2010. Honestly though it's not that bad thinking about it, Larsson isn't a bad Defenceman he's definitely a top 4 and he's still growing so he could turn into a #1 MAYBE. If they sign Lucic in FA it would soften the blow of losing hall but Lucic isn't exactly a trophy to brag about.

Unreal day for the NHL today definitely makes up for the lackluster draft and trade deadline this past year.

I knew about Detroits offer of 1yr/ 4m for Radulov but i was watching insider trading and Dreger reported Radulov wants a 2yr/ 7.5m per contract. Not sure if its true but if it is that's hilarious.

1.) 04 Jun 2016 01:58:25
i assume he'd get the equivalent amount of rubles per year if he were to stay in russia, so why wouldn't he ask for it here? would you not do the same if you were him?

also, as somewhat of an aside, you do realize that would be his initial ask from a team, not anything close to being a negotiated deal. i always find it hilarious when these initial ask numbers come out from the player or team and people react as if the player is actually going to get that much or take that little if it were the team's initial number that came out.

2.) 04 Jun 2016 03:00:09
Way to risky for a team to give him 2 years imo. He could easily dart back to the KHL.

3.) 04 Jun 2016 21:33:56
He won't get anything more than 1 yr at 5 mil.

4.) 05 Jun 2016 17:49:07
Shankar as much as your detailed and really well thought-out comment is appreciated i was kidding. But since you brought it up the KHL is not even close to NHL standards so what gives him the authority to think just because he put up a decent numbers in the KHL he'll do the same in the NHL and demand that much for 2 years even? If i was him i'd be happy to accept any deal over 4m after the last stint he had with Nashville. Either way don't be so srs.

Seems like that's always the thought with connolly. When he got traded to the Bruins it was thought with a change of scenery he could relish into the scorer he was projected to be, especially playing next to bergy and marchy, didn't work. Signed in washington and i saw some blogs and posts about maybe that will be his spark and he'll get going, now the same is being said in this post. I think connollys at best an average 4th line checker, worth a 6th or 7th guys done nothing in the league.

So because he is having a hot start that means he should garner Pastrnak or a 1st+++? You do understand he's a UFA after this year right? He's going to get a good return but no team is going to unload their talent for him unless they know they can sign him.

Pastrnak is looking really good so far, i don't think the Bruins woud be willing to trade him at this point. As mush as they need a top 2-4 Dman they also need scoring, i hope they learned their lesson with trading young starts away now.

Carlo has been looking great for Boston so far, not to mention Pastrnak is tearing it up on the Bergeron-Marchand line. I think the value is close but it honestly to me doesn't make sense for Boston, they lose 2 stars for another LHD/ We have Zboril/ Arnesson/ Lauzon all left handed in the system and Krugs recently shown he is not comfortable on the right side.
