To Arizona:

-Kreci

-Z. Phillips

-Seidenberg

2016 1st (Bostons)
2016 2nd (from Colorado)
2017 3rd

To Boston:

-Boedker (RFA after this season)

-Gormley

-Hanzal

2016 3rd
2017 2nd

Why the teams do this:

Kreci will bring skill to that team, they frankly just don't have at the centreman postion, and Boedker is going to ask for some nice money, which, Arizona could definitely afford, but get a return for him now, kreci is signed long term so you don't have to worry about that. Boedker will play 2nd line winger with Hanzal at centre and Connolly on his right side, making a nice top six with the Bergeron Line. Seidenberg goes to replace Gormley and shed some salary for Boston.

Look at it as Kreci, Philips and a 3rd for Boedker, Hanzal, and a 3rd. Kreci is the superior player and superior value in this deal.

Gormley for Seidenberg a 1st and 2nd. Steep price for Boston, and Bruins commenters may hate it, but give it up, and say thank-you to anyone who takes chunks of salary off this squad. If you we want to be serious contenders in the next few years, we have to cut ties with some of the guys we love, and package some of the future to put a productive team on the ice now. The 1st rounder we give up sucks, but we still have another 1st next year from San Jose, which may end up being a pretty nice (high) pick, so it retrospect after having 3 1st's this year, we can afford to only have 1 next year.

Arizona does it to gain assets, an elite centreman and a top 6 dman.

Obviously I'm a Bruins fan.

that's brutal return for the bruins. Krecji is good piece for Boston. Hanzal doesn't compare at center. and including a 1st round pick?? I would have thought reading this that you'd be a Coyotes fan. maybe if Oliver Ekman-Larsson was included in there somewhere I'd be on board. Bruins are in need of defence not 2nd/3rd line players.

the point of this trade was to get Gormley and Boedker, you give up the 1st to get rid of seidenberg, its a thankyou to the coyotes for taking that salary. Kreci is a nice piece here, but he doesn't play well with our budding superstar pastrnak. i'd rather see a 2nd line of

Boedker Spooner Pastrnak

and not

beleski kreci connolly

the games were actually fun to watch when spooner and pasta were playing meaningful minutes together last year, it was almost deflating when kreci came back. Boedker can fly with the best of them and would compliment well with those two,

Hanzal is a big body center who was having a nice year last year until injury, Hanazal doesn't compare? He had 24 pts in 37 games last year. Kreci had 31 in 47 last year. that's about .65 pts a game for both, pretty clear they're not the same player, but different roles and virtually same production last year. Saves us cash as well. Tell me you wouldn't like your lines as

Marchand- Bergeron- Erickson
Boedker- Spooner- Pastrnak
Beleski- Hanzal- Hayes
Kelly- Koko- Connolly

that 3rd line gives me wood, the body bashing that would go on? My god, and the second line would be one of the fastest/quickest/and most creative in the NHL.

You broke it down nicely at first I thought no from Boston but now I can see it. Maybe drop the third from Boston. And the Yotes can trade Krejci at the deadline for probably at least a first depending on how his year went and salary retention.

Boedker, 3rd = Krejci

Gormely = Seidenberg, 2nd

Hanzel, 2nd = 1st Phillips

?
